So ive been a lurker and creeper of the forums for a long time. Usually i dont have much to say, and message people individually. I have done a lot of support work for some mod projects and dabbed a little bit in texturepack stuff back in the early days. But never taken on a full resource pack before.
With all my pixel art background and years of working on game assets, animation, design, etc. I decided FINALLY i want to make one!
now i am working in the realms of 1.7.10 as i play on a modded server of my own. As well as working in 32x area as its a solid amount of space to work in, and ive done some mock ups to see how they look, and they fair well for me.
one thing that i know i am fairly weak at, is color pallettes in general.i do blame the cushioning of ambient occlusion mapping and displacement maps from my 3d modelling excusions. I feel i do need some improvement, and work in this area needs to happen. But color theory is a grow and learn area of skill. So felt id just ask the community, for some suggestions or maybe a resource page for just colors alone.
The theme im aiming for is fantasy/medievel, but fairly warm colors in general. in my own opinion, i know i excel in detail, lighting, etc. as well as depth. But color in general, i feel i drop the ball and end up going out of bounds when working on new items.
so i was wondering if the texturing community here could either give me some pointers, or a point in the right direction for resources just strictly to palettes. Colors that blend, and possibly something warm.
