What happened to 3D models-resource packs? they were popular for a while and now no one cares about them. I use a default 3D because all the other 3D packs are way too "dark" (I just don't like the feel of them) And after switching to other normal packs (non 3D) I kinda felt like everything was like paper: the flowers, the ladder, the doors and everything that was 3D before.
All I want is a resource pack that is simple but 3D and doesn't have a dark feel. maybe a cartoon-y feel but I wouldn't like it to change much of the terrain, does no one make 3D models anymore?!
Can anybody suggest a pack that's 3D and simple? I might've tried them all. and please don't say that "I should make my own" because I'm kinda busy with other things and the last time I tried making resource packs...well...yeah...........I KIND OF rage quit because of a huge mistake with transparency and I don't know how to 3D model.
But anyway, I suspect the reason they're not super popular is partially because the novelty has worn off, and also even people with systems optimised for gaming experience lag from a lot of the 3D packs. When you introduce 3D to a model, you increase the number of faces for each block that Minecraft has to render. The more complex the new model, the more faces. The more models you edit to be 3D, the more load you're putting on your system.
Basically, they're fun, but Minecraft is laggy enough without adding to the problem.
Not to mention, making the models is the biggest pain in the neck ever. You have to add so many new files to a pack just to change one block, and it's not really worth it.
My packs, Lithos and Visibility use 3D in most places where it makes the most sense sense: Netherwort, small mushrooms, doors, ladders, bookshelves, sugarcane. I still need to get the trap doors. I keep the geometry simple to avoid adding much lag.
I also use 3D where it fits well in my packs, and avoid too many objects to prevent lag. I don't have as many 3D models as I would like to add, but I am planning more.
Most people making the 3D default have problems where they run out of default blocks to model, as when you see one 3D default ladder, and you have basically seen them all.

I appreciate your help, thank you.
