The Krux of your problem is that the 'top' section of the texture does not tile with the left or right. When textures are applied to blocks, they are done in a manner so as the 'top' points north on the top of the block. Subsequently now, the 'bottom' portion of your block texture is facing forward in your screenshot, and so will act mirrored to your upright textures on the vertical wall. Like how two puzzle pieces fit together, until you turn one of them upside down so the ugly brown part is face-up. (Unless you're a boss and complete jigsaw puzzles picture-down. ;))

I see what you're saying. How on earth have I gone this long without noticing that..? I must be really lucky in that the textures where that's going to be an issue are too slight to be noticeably wrong. I'll try and finish fixing it tomorrow, I really want to go to bed now. I've been texturing for hours while watching Star Trek on the other monitor. I got a ton done.

Anywho, been busy trying various crystal looks for the Emeralds coming up. I came up with this: Sized up to 256x but it is x64
What ya think? (The white stuff is referenced from beryl that didn't receive the proper elements that make the emerald have the green tone)

In other news, my texturings getting an improvment soon as i found a nice touchpad (with stylus or without) for $30. No more constant ctrl-z'ing continuously for the right curves (wink wink).

The emeralds are new for the upcoming 1.3 update. Apparently a form of currency to trade with villagers, or something.
