I'm keeping that a secret right now. If no one can see who it is, then I've seriously failed. I'll be offline for a bit here, too, cause sleep is important.

The skin is Auron, from FFX, he's one of the party members that you can have in your party at a given time, to me the skin was well done in terms of basic execution, you just needed the miniature gourd that he carries around with him

...render clouds in all the channels. It handles better at a larger resolution, then downsize it after. Also, it tiles.
Unfortunately that does not work in all versions. My old Photoshop CS4 definitely does not render tiling clouds. I was excited for a minute, and wondered how i could have missed that.

Mhm. Yeah, my worry with adding the gourd is having a 3D object not look right in 2D.... But I suppose I should get accuracy, if nothing else.
@Murphy
I actually really like the floor with that. It looks like tiles made of tiles.
@Malcolm
I would say that's a nice avatar, but it looks pretty flat to me. There's detail, but no real shading.
@Kris
First off, I never said welcome back, so welcome back.
Secondly, as much as I'm sure that rainbowed texture tiles, it won't tile well. It'll very obviously be repeating, so you'd probably need CTM for it.
Nice! Thank you!
Let me show you a trick for generating something a bit less even-steven - render clouds in all the channels. It handles better at a larger resolution, then downsize it after. Also, it tiles.
i don't use photoshop, so i might be able to figure out something similar in pixelmator

Quoted from Meringue - Too bad i own and have to use PS (at work) - it's clunky and i hate it..
The texture seams are inconsistent, one leg splits at the middle back, the other at the outer front, arms have same problem. I don't know if I mentioned I do a lot of 3D modelling and consequently UV mapping and texturing, and to save yourself time you make stuff like this logical and consistent. This saves you time. Work smart, not hard.
Edit: Wait guys, this is still a beta format, right? Maybe we should nudge Mojang to change it before it hits live.
Until 1.8, i don't think it's final

It's not inconsistent at all. The arms and legs are "split" differently because they are on different sides of the body. If both arms and legs were exactly the same that's what it would be: You would have 2 right arms and 2 right legs. Unless you're suggesting that the left arms and legs should be mirrored automatically?
Yeah man, unfold it straight and it ends up being a mirror.
Let me demonstrate
So I kept the old layout on top, third row is follows the old logic with leg-torso-arm but for right side + overlay, bottom row are the limb overlays, organized adjacent and flipped (not actually flipped, just a true projection).
This would be easier to work with. Although I doubt mojang will change it.

Basically, i just did a lot of 45 degree angles until i made something that looked alright.
I think the bottom of the diorite needs a larger 'end' piece too.

It has one. It just isn't showing because i built the walls down into the floor...
Here:
Phwaaaah, that looks fantastic! Triangles should be used in more textures IMO. Looks very neat.

From 64x to 32x you lose probably the most detail, and especially since the cracks are dark and then turn grey, so you lose color.
Page get on a reply with no art to share, what a waste. Also I visited my future college and they let me fly a Cessna 172!

If it is changed, that's a LOT of skins that suddenly have to be redone.
