Sometimes taking a nice break can do wonders... I feel that sometimes I just get tired of Minecraft, which in turn gives me little reason to work on my texture pack.
Same with me as well. I keep telling myself that I'll become re-interested in the game when my pack is complete and I've got the visual feel I want, but I know it'll never happen...
Nice! The furnace is looking better, and colors are nice as usual. The ores designs are very nice but it's kinda weird that they are in the rocks rather than in between the rocks.

I'm pretty sure that's how ores form, inside of rocks.
It's been a long time since I've animated tiles and I believe a different format is used now..? Could someone remind me as to how to animate a block texture? I have 20 frames which may or may not contain delays.
Edit: When making this I was thinking of this being glowstone, but when I put the frames into animation I think it might work better as lava, though I may need to slow down the framerate:
Woah, I hope I'm online to witness the creation of page 2000 later today.
@BlueCoin
That is a very unique animation, but I don't really see how that would fit any block. Although, lava may work, if the colour was a bit more orange.

I'm making an 8x8 pack and mostly using pixelly patterns for textures, so I think this lava texture could fit in well. Though I will see about making it more orange.
It depends somewhat on the ore. A lot of metal ores are found in the form of oxides/salts deposited as layers of the stone. So they're rusty iron layers or streaks of corroded copper greens. Anyway, I've had good luck looking up almost all Minecraft minerals as photo reference. As for Redstone ore, just think of what properties you consider redstone to have.
With metals that is true, I think, though diamond and emerald might be formed inside of rock? Not sure, I'm not geologist.
Try not to put your highlights right on the edge of the dirt clump and in some places use a lighter shade for the crack. Only things I can think of that will help.
Well, if you'd have looked closer you'd have seen that the lightest shade is (mostly) in the middle.

8x8 blown up to 32x32, then tiled 2x2.
it wold also work as a lit redstone lamp
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I've done nothing but teleport bread for the past three days
Could somebody give me advice on a way to make the edges seem less... Sharp? Like, anti-alias the in-between part of the dirt.
Well, your outlines don't always have to be one pixel thick. You can make them thicker, if you want, to make the dirt pieces more round and blobby and less jagged. This will also make the outlines themselves look smoother.
You might also want to try having bigger dirt pieces.

I love that, although I do have a thing for odd animated textures.
I did a version of water once that's just DNA strands spiraling all weird-like, I'll have to dig that out and figure out how to animate it outside of the game ^^;
EDIT: Here it is it's kinda horrifying in game though. I'm not sure why I made it.
That's a really interesting idea for water, maybe if you could get the spirals to rotate it would look less harsh. What kind of pack would that have been used in?
It was for a planned mod with a surreal dimension. Things like oceans made of dreams, cellular biomes, trees with impressionist paintings for leaves, and a few other oddities. Mostly just to practice texturing haha I'll try to add the spinning, I do agree it looks pretty harsh.
I love that skin, by the way. I'd like to try shoulder pads like that
I haven't been very active across the forums lately but I have been working on some alternate styles of texturing than what I normally would in my pack, which I will have to discontinue because with school coming up I won't have time to work on it and I was losing motivation for Clouds Descend any way.
This was my last ditch effort to revive it but I really didn't have any inspiration for quartz and I don't like how it turned out. Any suggestions for improvements.

With the new skin layout having extra hat layers for the entire body I tried to add depth to my skin by raising some of the armour plates. (I should probably do some colour adjustments.)

In my opinion, that quartz is really nice, although try to have less of those short dark diagonal lines, but have 2 or 3 going the full length of the block, diagonally. Try experimenting with the borders being the lightest, or, as you already have, the darkest shades.
Those shoulderpads are an awesome idea, kinda reminds me of back in the day, when lego had shoulderpads.

Not too bad, though what it could be used for in-game is a mystery
Same here. I get all excited about new blocks that I'm never going to use, but think of what I *could* do with them!
The diamond and redstone might change.
That's true, I'll see what I can do.

Sorry if I sounded a bit rude there.

I was about to say the same.
I've been here for a loooooooooong time.
