How exactly does one set up themselves to make money with their textures?
Usually people will use a revenue-generating link shortener like adfly or adfocus for their download link, though others will have an ad-free link and then post a donate button somewhere on the thread. I personally use Curse's hosting service. They give you reward points for your downloads, but without the sketchy ads that adfly and adfocus use.
I worked a long time on the villager's face last night and ended up with this. My intention with the villagers is of course to be mostly-faithful, but to push the villagers to looking a little less human and dim-witted.
When i finished i felt pretty happy with the results, but i worked on it to the point were i probably lost my objectivity. And the first couple comments were negative.
So i thought i'd ask a wider range of artists for feedback.
I think it captures the Original pack just right. I can't see how it would be done that much better. I'm undecided about the eyebrows, since they look like eyelashes (but maybe that's the point).
Pfft, you all are so dumb. You post your packs here just throwing them into the hands of people who will use them to their own profits. This is why I don't have any packs up for download. No one can take advantage of my works!
Sarcasm aside;
@Syclone
Those are nice. What happens when you have multiple of the same type next to each other, though? I'm assuming it's strictly vertical CTM? This actually takes a lot of the versatility out of stained glass, too. That saddens me. Brown stained glass was great for dirty windows, and grey for old windows. But what can you do?
@WingedShadow
Yay, support wood! Every pack should have a support wood!
As a continuation of what I did over the weekend, I've gone back and redone my stone bricks (one of the ugliest textures in my pack, IMO). As before, new on the left, old on the right.
And here's a screenshot.
See, this is the way I want my pack to look. A lot of my older textures don't really have the same look about them, so I have a lot of work to do. Sandstone is next; that stuff is hideous.

That looks just like what I imageing the would look like IRL! Perferct

Looking much better than the older ones, but the moss looks a group of centipedes.
It seems that I forgot how buckles work, so I slightly editted them. Also, the bottom books are concepts for written/wip books. I ran out of room for the open book, so it's a bit cramped.
The books are good, but the open looks weird. Maybe it can be closed with a label on it, or a red ribbon hanging out. Try some black/dark pixels on the bottom part of the feather, so it gets some shadow contrast to the book.
I converted the perspicuus the best i could to the dragon model. It is a skeletal metal creature that uses firey jets for propulsion. The fire is animated.
Spiders:
I made them harvestmen. I realize they don't have venom, or make webs, but i think they're pretty neat, and with the thin spindly legs, they look extra spider-y ingame, even if they aren't true spiders.
Wither:
I thought it best to make them resemble the materials they're built from. Wither bone and soul sand.
Anyway, i'm hoping to get the mob release out tomorrow.
I'm half way done with the iron golem, which is the last mob to finish. So it's just a matter of finishing that one, fixing a few bugs, and uploading the pack.
Here's the results of today's work... Ender dragon:

Oooh, very horrific
The enderdragon will look a bit unusual when it opens its mouth, though.
Following Lupus' suggestions, I made some more
I put some shadows under the quill, and then made some more concepts: one that is meant to have an illustration on the cover, one that is biblical, one that has a ribbon (which I think looks like a tongue), one that has labels on the front (which I think look like bird poop), and one that looks delicious.
I'm late, but, @ the whole resource-packs.org nonsense, if the TAU needs any help from PlanetMinecraft staff (I am a developer at PMC: http://planetminecra...m/member/paril/) give me a shout. I will provide any information required to help move this forward and get this misuse of ad.foc removed.
EDIT: okay, this took a very harsh turn. He's copypasting content not only from MCF, but PMC: http://prntscr.com/20zcr0 (notice the ad link removed portion, which is a PMC thing). We're preparing our information to file a DMCA request on behalf of those whose content are on this site. I will do what I can to get MCF involved as well.

In reply, we're removing links to the site here as well.
Yeah, like I said, it's not necessarily illegal (to the best of my knowledge), but it's still kind of a **** move.

Yep. Different shapes and such. Vertical ctm on the frames, random on the glass.
Host your pack on curse.com.
You will be given points for downloads, points can be traded in for amazon gift cards or money through paypal.

Amazing, but as you have mentioned, opacity is an issue.
If you add shading to the tops and bottoms of the blocks, it looks weird if you don't have similar shading in the grooves too.
Looking much better than the older ones, but the moss looks a group of centipedes.

I like them! I also like the dirt/grass, the stained clay and the cobble. I'm not a fan of the + pattern on the log_top.

Books for Audi Ventus. From top right in an anticlockwise direction:
Enchanted Book, Book, Drafting Book and Published Book.
Here's the results of today's work...
Ender dragon:

I like it! Their eyes remind me of the robot's faces in Castle in the Sky.
13thMurder, those spiders are horrifying. Good work, especially on the Enderdragon.
Yay, you got the reference! You win $108080!
I tried to make their faces pretty similar to the robot from that because it looks so friendly and welcoming for a stone golembro.
They look quite nice. Is the 'q' on the enchanted one meant to resemble anything, or is it just a 'q'?
Oooh, very horrific

Then maybe it could look more like this?
I wouldn't have been able to guess that it was a magnifying glass if you hadn't said so.
I need more advice on how to tackle items; most importantly, style and shape.
