Steel, I had an idea on something rather unique you could write about, I don't think I've ever seen it covered before (and I'm not exactly sure it's something you want/need/should cover). But, what about how to set-up your thread? How to display your work? I'd write a bit about this, as I've been thinking about this a lot recently, and I think I know what a good way to show your art consists of.
I might write-up what I think sometime, probably not until next weekend, I'll need to be fully awake when I'm writing it.. To bounce it off you to improve what you write, okay? :smile.gif:
I haven't seen this specifically mentioned on your list, but it would be a good idea to cover some of the strange things about how minecraft uses textures. Like how there are three different (5 with the 1.9 update) grass block textures in the terrain.png. Or how the glass accepts only absolute transparency but water and ice can take all values.
Also, (though you probably know this) the technical term for the skin folding for things like mobs and chests is UV mapping. U and V being the axis onto which the textures are mapped.
Hmm. This could be one impressive guide once it's done. make sure to have a linked table of contents -- newbs won't bother to look at it if they have to scroll through ten pages of text and pics to find what they want.

Your suggestions have been added, good sir. *salutes*
Thank god. No one who makes texture packs ever goes there. Not that I've seen, anyway. The people who know what they're doing aren't looking for tutorials. ^^

Yup, super happy that we'll actually get somewhere with this. :3
Got any more queries or anything that need input? I can't sleep. :tongue.gif:

*Points to very last section of outline*
Gotcha covered. :biggrin.gif:
Sounds good!
Now I have to read through the op again to see if there is anything else that needs added.

Also, you could cover filters, when to use and not to use. I have seen filters abused A LOT. However, as I am sure you know, I use them A LOT.
