While all three look very nice, you really should work on the Steampunk one because that is a niche area so you're more likely to gain loyal downloaders compared to the other two where someont might instead get JohnSmith or Doku instead.
Thanks for the encouragement! Steampunk as a niche is already covered (notice the gentleman a few comments up) quite nicely though I'm in a crack within said niche by making a 16x Steampunk pack, so I guess it might collect some loyal downloaders! I think though that Stalag Bergwerk is also pretty nichey, but you're right with Colonial. Thanks again!

I see John Smith's as being more fantasy medieval really, undoubtedly wonderful, but your Colonial theme is completely different, and just like Stalag and Steamy, is well worth developing as an original theme, especially now we've got horses.
It's probably never going to happen, but until I try (and probably fail) to make a 16x version in the style of Glimmar's Steampunk, I'll put your link/banner in my OP to Steamy, for those wanting a 16x steampunk pack. If that's acceptable to you, Squid? You know as well as I, just how many times visitors have asked for a 16x version and it's not nice to keep saying, "sorry, I haven't got the time." As I'm off with a not very powerful laptop to relax somewhere quiet for the next few weeks, I well understand how frustrating hi-rez packs can be for most laptop users. I have a mind to try FTB with your Steamy and Collonial packs while I'm away, as it's ages since I tried my hand at survival!

Wow! Thanks so much for the offer, I'd be flattered for you to do that! However, sadly I don't think I'm going to finish Steamy anytime soon... As for your adventures in Survival, I haven't even provided a download for Colonial yet as it's woefully undermade... Good luck anyway... And thanks again for the support!
I've had a frustrating afternoon with texturing. It started with a desire to work on Colonial Rich, but that quickly turned to pain as I had to convert the files to 1.6. This was a smooth operation for the other packs, but not Colonial, I ended up manually cutting and saving the items textures . After this I had a briefly good time making a new bow texture, before I had to spend more time relearning the MCpatcher rules and looking for my tobacco texture from a few pages back. Sadly I think I lose that texture forever , and I'll have to redo it later. However, amidst all this pain I did create a really nice new bow (musket) and arrow (musket-ball) which I wanted to show you through video. I made the video and tried to get it up on youtube, but my (or youtubes) connection was slower than ever and after 2:30 hours only 70% of the 125MB video was uploaded, before it got stuck. So things haven't been going so well...
I think that you should further steam but make it 32x. It will look better with the GUI animations.
Well, I agree... so check out Glimmars Steampunk! His is 32x and as you say the animations look much nicer! However, me doing 32x would defeat the purpose of this pack, and all my 32x wants are taken care of by Stalag Bergwerk and Colonial Rich.
Speaking of which here's that video I promised you!
(I had to lower the quality of the upload so that it would be done within 3 hours so I hope you don't mine non-HD!)
Well I shouldn't doublepost but I thought I should show you my progress on Steamy as well, seeing as Steamy is your favorite pack .
I've been systematically working through the items alphabetically and here are a few of the newest.
Here are the items from the top left reading across and down.
Golden Carrot (wine- because I think no renaissance themed reasourcepack should not have wine in it!)
Carrots (grapes)
Bowl
Mushroom Stew
Cooked Beef (T-Bone steak)
Raw Beef
Blaze Powder
Blaze Rod
Enchanted Book
Writable Book
Written Book
Book
Also you can see the coloured (red) clay as the background and the new Jukebox side on the left.
Speaking of Wine... here's my Vineyard I've been working on!

Look familiar to anyone?
(Just what was on the previous page)
Yeah It's a triple post, but someone has to keep this thread alive!
Here's more work i've done on steamy, working through the last few blocks.
The new melon growing and a pumpkin too. The pumpkin stem is some sort of pipe... a green pipe... growing out of the ground... dont't question it: it's science!
Sorry I haven't been around I've an emotional (both good and bad) past few days and have a lot or real life work coming up. I may do some small updates to Steamy or Colonial on the weekend but I shouldn't count on it. Hope everyone is doing fine, and thanks for checking in!
Yes, but they seem to........Bright Back then it was a lot of war. Especially the French and American Revolutions. Maby you should make it kinda like this RP, made by Beaverslikewood http://www.planetmin...-131-ac3-theme/
Thanks for the comments. The brightness is a matter of personal taste and has to do with the theme of my pack. While I call it 'Colonial' I mean it's about Colonial themes, rather than a particular era. On top of this it's not based on real-life, but Minecraft, so things like the American and French Revolutions are not going to be represented in my pack (as an example of this the flags I have as paintings are made up and so are the armour types. The Redcoat of my world is a Kingfisher who wears iron armour with a yellow sash). Honestly though I don't see how my pack is too bright. Also if I were to pick an era for my pack it would be the late age of discovery so like the ~1690s.
Thanks for the comments though, and the link. I honestly didn't know there were other Colonial packs out there, and it's good to see what other people are up to.
I hope you can still enjoy my pack when I release it!
Honestly though I don't see how my pack is too bright.
Well, i meant its a little to pippy for 1690's. This would be more of a pack for 1492, back when Colombus was falling off his seat finding America and thinking the pepoles were Indians (From India). It only need some little less pippyness (Sky colours, Water should be Brownish-blue (Think Brackish Water) and the villagers. What are they, Natives, or Settlers, or Both? If you need help with there skins, i can make some. Im really good at it.) And maby Armour should be different nations, with there armour as strength (If you need an Example: Dutch= Cloth Native Americans ( Sioux ) = Chainmail Native Americans (Aztecs) = Iron Spanish = Gold Diamond = Brittish. I really see a future for this Resorce Pack, and you can ask me for help Anytime.

Hey no, thanks for the encouragement! I'm not onto the sky yet, and the water is too bright I admit. As for the villagers you've hit a fundamental issue with this pack, I don't know whether to have them as natives or as settlers. The building style the villages use seems to imply settlers, but the fact they inhabit the land at all seems to mean natives. So perhaps like you said they can be native settlers... if that makes any sense at all! I'm working on the armours now as a matter of fact, and as I said above they're based on my own fantasy world rather than real-life soldiers. But your ideas are certainly similar to what I'm doing!
And yes, if you'd like to do a skin for the villagers I'd love that and would use it in my pack, as long as I'm allowed to!

But i would put it as "Converted Natives". Now, there not Exactly slaves, there free men but are owned by the settlers. And ill get to the Villagers right away!!! And if you need anything else, just message me.

Here are my soldiers for Colonial Rich.
The first is the leather armour; a sort of militia outfit.
The next is the iron armour, the standard 'musketeer' outfit.
Next is diamond armour, my special 'Kingfisher' soldier,
and finally is the gold armour, which is an officer's uniform.
I chose yellow and blue, because Colonial Rich is not meant to be a real-world pack, but fantasy.

I'll get the video up tomorrow though, but now I have to sleep. In the meantime why not also check out my other texturepack; I just recently updated it!
