They look really nice. I voted for Bergwerk, because it's an unusal theme for minecraft. I like Colonial, too, because I played a lot of AoE and Anno as a child

Thanks! Your vote has balanced the scores for Bergwerk and Steamy at 11 each!
I've seen a few other World War 2 texturepacks (but they're pretty bucket fill Mi FiRt TexTurpk PM things) but I guess its the only World War two Great Escape themed pack!
Speaking of Anno, I bought Anno 2070 recently which is cool as its like a modern colonial thing.
But yeah, I still play Anno 1602 occasionally and Age of Empires 3 is one of my all time favourite games , so Colonial Rich is my sort of my most personal texturepack. (It will be the one I finish last I guess)
Well, I'm going away for the week so I'll post my progress on the packs now.
Here are the pics in descending order from the one I worked on the most to least:
I had a major breakthrough on Colonial Rich!
I used the ctm features of MC patcher to create super easy half-timbering with birch-wood planks!
All the half-timbering in these images is from birch wood planks only!
Here's an example of how its done:
And a lovely overhead shot:
Unfortunately, not all the bugs have been ironed out and the textures shown have not been properly textured (its just bucket fill at the mo). Ctm is really hard to understand so it'll be a while before this feature is completely ready!
I've finished my Cuotl-esk end:
The ender-eyes in the frame are animated 'reactors' that spin around!
Once again, ctm has been put to good use making random tiles for my 'Cuotl spaceship thing end'
Unfortunately, nothing new here so I'll just post some pictures of things you haven't seen yet...
[Top pic] Gate to what will soon be the guard house:
Wooden doors are designed to be peaked into...
The other paintings I've done, the sepia images are photos from my camera edited up. See if you can figure out what they were!
All of them are nice but Colonial Rich just makes me melt because of the timber framing omg yes! Maybe a shadow next to the timber (on the white bit) to make it look more 3-D?
Wow thanks! I'm honestly surprised no-one has thought of doing what I've done with those planks! And Colonial Rich is my special pack that's my dream. As you've said the timber is a bit shoddy right now, but I've been focusing on getting the shapes right before I finish texturing them and putting shadows in.
Well I guess colonial rich will be my target for the next while. I just re-watched The Last of the Mohicans and remembered why it was that I loved this pack so much. The movie is dark, atmospheric and simply beautiful. The fight scene when the French are attacking the British fort is powerful and awe-inspiring. The way the battle is fought makes you find yourself wishing no side wins; it is simply amazing.
Some more Colonial Rich!
We had a big storm recently so I decided to work on the rain!
One thing that has bugged me about MC rain is the cartoony look. Real rain is not distinguishably in neat drops but forms a sheet rather like this:
So I set out to mimic that and came up with this:
Before:
After:
Some more:
However as you can see there are some small issues; the bits of rain don't exactly match up and look a bit odd at times!
If I can't find a way to fix this I might go back to the old rain
Also: I'm thinking I'll make gravel into a dark dirt-like block so that it can be used for roads; like this:
The new rain is so sexy it's worth the bug imho! Loving this stuff, have you ever heard of/posted in the TAU? (Sorry if theres an obvious answer to that, i'm tired ._.)
Thanks for the support of the rain! Regarding the TAU; actually I haven't (I don't think that answer was obvious!), and I really should because like most texturers I have a hard time getting my work noticed! Thanks and I'll get onto having a look. But I have used some of the TAU resources on MC patcher so I'm somewhat familiar with them!
In Colonial Rich the nails on the wooden planks look a bit out of place... I have no idea how you could improve them but I feel like they could look better. Also, that rain is god damn sexy. Great job!
Thanks for the support as well! I guess I'll go back to working on the planks; I do feel that they're a bit too red and I'll redo the nails now that you've pointed them out! Thanks again!
There already is a major Steampunk pack, and the community lacks in WWII texture packs. I'm voting for Stalag Bergwerk.
Yes I know, Glimmars, but he himself has expressed support of my pack for three reasons:
The community lacks a 16x Steampunk pack and Glimmar is reluctant to scale his down.
Glimmars pack is construction oriented whereas mine is survival and exploration oriented.
There is another steampunk pack around (broken anachronisms?) that has a completely different style to myself and to Glimmars, which proves that Steampunk is a very diverse style. Three steampunk packs, or even a hundred, won't ever cover the same ground and become redundant.
Gilmmars style is traditional Victorian Steampunk, The other one (sorry I don't remember who made it) is a very electrical and surreal themed one, and mine is an earlier steampunk style. Sort of late renaissance or medieval themed, with an emphasis on fantasy and clockwork. It is highly influenced by the game Rise of Legends.
But yes, I love Stalag and I do agree that the lack of a WWII pack is a bit sad!
I love colonial! the water seems a little blue though, good work!
Hey thanks! I'm not really sure about the water too, it does look a tad cartoony and as its animated with waves it looks odd underground... It is my first ever water texture as well, so I really must go back and revise it when I have a bit more experience! (Thanks for supporting colonial too, It's my favourite as well!)
I am doing dome work on Steamy at the mo though, pictures will be up tomorrow.
Well for the first time I've uploaded some previews (in OP) for everyone. These contain all my work so far on each pack; beware they're incomplete, full of holes and rough.
Also here is the promised update on Steamy (included in previews)
New Nether Wart; is now Nether Crystal, after all; alchemy (replacing brewing) needs strange crystals!
Speaking of alchemy... I built a lab to show off the new potion stands and cauldrons.
Here is the lab from outside:
Here are the potion making apparatus:
And here are some machines, the dials belong to the piston's back (my homage to Glimmar) and are great for building machines! You can also see the new enchanting table (augmentation workshop):
So go check out the previews in the OP (I'll put them up in about 1 min) and tell me what you think!

Okay, I agree with you on the first point, but broken anachronism isn't primarily steampunk, the theme is time being screwed up so the present has elements from different periods of time, that and it's post apocalyptic.
My main point is that the community lacks any good WWII texture packs.
Anyway if your pack is medieval with an emphasis on clockwork it isn't really steampunk. Steampunk is based on the victorian/edwardian era of England with higher clockwork based tech.

Be caring, please help my dragon hatch by giving him a little click.

Okay okay, I must have come across wrong. Steampunk is a broad term and has even been applied to alternate histories where Romans had steam-tanks! Steampunk is about a reimagined history where steam power is all the go. While most steampunk is neo-Victorian, there are many other facets (not least the Romans!) I am not making a clockwork medieval pack, I am making a steam-powered, clockwork, fantasy pack. It just happens that instead of Victorian my pack is an earlier period. (also steampunk is not exclusively English, there is a thriving wild west aspect as well as much German 'Kaiser' stuff)
Sorry about the misunderstanding!
Coming back to your main point, world war two packs are very hard; the subject is very broad and politically sensitive. By making a pack based around a movie based around world war two I am being a bit safe in my approach.
That looks fantastic! I have a sudden urge to build something with the Steamy textures...
Thanks!
And you can now, as I uploaded the previews.
Also I can't help noticing your location is Finland (I'm half Finnish), I envy your weather! Here in Australia it is 34 degrees, and I can't seem to keep cool!
Also, If you do make anything I'd love to see it so post any screens here!
Well I'm off to New Zealand until the 20th! I won't be able to work on any textures (besides sketches) but I will still be able to receive feedback and admire any creations you post...
Happy Holidays!

This is what I've been doing in the meantime:

I've been here for a loooooooooong time.
Thanks, I enjoy working on different concepts and ideas and Stalag Bergwerk is no exception! I have really enjoyed it so far!

New Wooden Door:
Iron Blocks:
Gunpowder Barrels (TNT)

I've done my gravel-dirt for roads:
And a crate for a chest:
And when I do go back to Steamy I will have the pleasure of texturing arguably the most Steampunk element of MC- the piston!
