Ive worked quite a bit with CTM in the last couple of weeks, Ive learned a lot but also realized that as long as I continue customizing my textures, Ill never play the game again. When playing with mods, theres just way too many. So Ive decided to stop and only use vanilla textures from now on. Ill share what ive learned so its not a complete waste.

The areas marked with numbers were always the most difficult to figure out, but if you simply follow the patterns at the bottom, its easy. A is the background you paste the shapes you make from B onto it. The final product looks like this:

You can't name them different things! It doesn't work! I spent the last 4 HOURS fixing my CTM because I had to name them the normal way! ANd remove the tileIDs!

THEN. WHY. WOULD. IT. SAY. THAT. IT. WORKS. ON. THE. ACTUAL. THREAD.
This is a long story.
Back in the old days when they made pokemon games and stuff, they would test it for MONTHS and MONTHS to make sure there are no glitches. Then they published the game and it was perfect.
Nowadays, they make a Call of Duty game in 6 months and it takes them years to perfect it AFTER the release.
Same with other games. *hint hint minecraft has been released for like 4 years and hasn't been completely perfected*
This goes for everything. There is always glitches. That's why some parts of minecraft have lighting glitches.
That's why Google Chrome is not responding.
That's why your computer is infected with viruses.

No, because then people wouldn't read the tutorials. They'd just skip to the end and copy the sample code. That's not what this is here for.
Well sometimes the tutorials makes no sense and people need an example to help understand.

Sorry, it just seems more useful than your method if you aren't just adding borders, if you want a more stylized look.

No offence, but you gotta test these things before you say them.
I'm 99% sure all the wool blocks use different block values.
EDIT: I'll be damned. They are all 35, so just do this to each properties file:
block35.properties
block35a.properties
block35b.properties
...etc...
and in the properties wright what you would normally wright, but add this:
metadata=1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15
Or do the simpler option:
Name it the wool colour, like 'greywool' and add blockIDs=35 and then do what Fish said.

REPATCH YOUR GAME WITH THE LATEST MCPATCHER.

Don't you think I would have done that? I DID EVERYTHING. It only works ONE way. With terrain###.properties as the name
block#### properties would probably work too but whatevs. All I know is that you MUST name it with the ID.
