Sassgard's pretty close to finished, so I'll put it up here as well.
Monetised videos are fine. Redistribution and remixes are not.
Please specify that monitized videos are acceptable in your "Legal Stuff" section. Until you do I'll add Sassgard to my list on the front page as "non-monetized videos only." Yes, sadly, you do need to specify.
to monetize from your videos you'd have to be a big youtuber. I checked you on YT. How to say it... you kinda far from that.
Secondly, if you were big enough to make any money from your vids, all pack makers would gladly allow you to use their packs, as it would be a free advertise...
Use, link original minecraft forum thread an that's it. End of subject.
Unless you know another way of making maney from yt videaos. Then, please, share.
Actually, no.
It's quite easy to monetize your videos on youtube (and as far as I know, anyone can, barring regional laws).
I basically entered in my cellphone number, and after a time, I became a "youtube partner". Basically you do a little something to prove you aren't a spammer, you abide by the rules and you can monetize your videos.
It is however, true that you won't make any money off of youtube unless you're someone big. I think I read on adsense that the cash-out limit is $100, so youtube sits on any money you make until you go over that amount.
And monetizing videos isn't about the link. It's about ads around the video, which can exist when they are using the proper link in the description.
Try to be nice, especially when you don't know what you're talking about....

It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Another thing to keep in mind, is adblockers that people use totally nullify any profits, if the ad never plays in the first place that view doesn't count to your profits.
This is why adblockers are actually a bad thing, people don't understand that adblockers actually cause more ads in the long run to over compensate for all the people who can't/won't view them. To be completely honest, I'm actually surprised adblockers arent considered illegal. In a twisted round about way you are technically pirating free sites by not viewing their ads that keep their doors open. :/
..but that's for another rant entirely. Basically, just keep in mind that you won't gain money off adblocker users, and the payout you do get is very low. You'll probably make more money making a texture pack and collecting curse points than you will on youtube making videos (assuming you have the talent), unless you become youtube-famous.
You're using a Non-commercial license, so right now your pack is still technically off limits for monetized videos. Please add a waver of rights for monetized videos. You can see an example in my thread.
Technically, you also have a No-Derivs license as well, meaning that you pack cannot be used as part of another work (a video in this case), so that's a big no-go there too without a specific waver of rights from you. Sorry.
Right now I've got you down as "Ask Permission" since you did indicate that in your license.
Really? Most adblockers just add a css hidden tag to ads. So it would still play, but you would not see it. Unless something has changed since 2012.
They apparently developed the technology to detect if the ad is visible on the page. For videos, I think it's a little more obvious since the start time of the content video is different with and ad from when it starts without one.
But yea, Ad-blockers hurt sites' revenue. Please disable ad-block on any site you actually like and can trust not to have harmful ads.

Yeah, thats a common method for standard adds on websites, although I think youtube videos are different. If I'm not mistaken it overrides the player entirely and the video never plays in the first place.
I don't use adblockers of any kind, I simply just don't visit overly greedy ad-filled sites. .. So I could be wrong.

I have to disagree with you there. Adblockers are a wonderful invention. They keep those giant ads that are so easy to accidentally click from being plastered across every page I visit. I like that I don't have to worry that I'm going to accidentally click on an ad by mistake. I'm also sick to death of seeing scantily-clad, giant-boobed anime girls stretched along the sides of whatever website I'm visiting. I don't even play those games! I've never played those games! Why do they keep shoving those big boobs in my face?? Adblocker fixes it for me.
Also, I could be wrong, but I believe that certain adblockers also prevent those ads from sneakily putting cookies onto your computer when it blocks the ad from loading. Which is a huge bonus. My computers always run so much better online and off when I use adblock ++ whenever I surf the web.

This. So many embedded ads play sound that cannot be turned off, and any attempt to do so just opens the page. I have my adblock disabled on a few video streaming sites that get angry if you use adblock, and that's it.
But I could lament for hours on the amount of times I've gone to download something on a page that was plastered in ads, and hit the wrong "download" button and getting a billion things installed to my computer.

I hate those ads too, don't get me wrong. But when people blanket-block all ads on all sites everywhere, you're taking money out of the webmaster's pocket who is offering you a free service he is paying to keep running. Although I totally 100% agree with you, those annoying tricky ads need to go...
As long as Adblocker is used to get rid of those really annoying and intrusive ads, it's fine.. I'm more concerned with the ones that block all ads everywhere. These sites are free to us, not to their owners. Someone has to pay the bills. :/
A lot of people don't realize how expensive web hosting is, I pay about $50~/month to keep sixtygig.com and rayvolution.net up.. and they only use about 500gb/month total in bandwidth.
That's how a kinda strange question leads to a big, useful, but off topic discussion.

Anybody can monetize their videos now and minecraft.net states in their terms of use that," you are allowed to put ads on your Youtube videos containing Minecraft footage "

Personally I use adblocker but only for pre-roll advertisements and pop up advertisements, I don't mind advertisements that are off to the side or even the little bar that shows up on youtube videos. I wouldn't mind the pre-roll advertisements but because I live in Quebec a lot of them are in french and I clearly don't speak french so the ads are entirely irrelevant to me.

I think he meant in order for it to be worth it. It takes a lot of traffic to gain enough money for it to be worth it when it comes to all internet advertising. Us resource pack artists have those woes as well, unless your pack is extremely popular, the income via adfly/curse/adfocus/whatever usually isn't all that high.

True but it'd still be fun to make some Minecraft videos, maybe I'll do a resource pack showcase video showcasing all the texture packs mentioned in this thread.
Would someone mind doing me a favor and giving me their feedback on the render quality of this video? please excuse the black bars, I forgot to record in 1280x720

Please only do this if you're going to give a proper critique or are talking a lot about the pack. We already have enough people who can walk around and read signs with block names on them.

Your video quality seems fine. You don't have any voice, though, so I can't really tell you what the quality of your video as a whole is going to be.

Everything was clear? Because every time I watch any of my videos despite playing it in HD I get these odd moments where it's blurred, grainy or pixelated. I currently use a blue yeti, the reason I didn't include the audio was because currently my power supply unit is abnormally loud and I need to replace it.

don't worry I'll actually do a proper review on them and give my criticism (nothing harsh)

That's just Youtube. There's a cap for bitrate, so frames where you have a lot of movement get crapped on. I saw that too, but I don't think it's worse than any other video of the same resolution.

Done!
- You are free to use this pack in any screenshots or videos you like, including monetized youtube videos.
That should clear it up for youtube at least, I'll worry about the nitnoid details for the other stuff later.

Ah, OK.
I look forward to seeing your reviews then. Feel free to give Sanity a review. I haven't had one since 1.5
