How does it sit with the cobble as that was really sharp?
Looking much more consistent now than before, will test it out once i receive it and report back.
What are you tackling next?
Keep it up
Thanks!
I haven't thought to look at it next to cobble, and now that I did, it really fits better. Here's a screenshot.
I'll send an update your way tomorrow after school, so with time to get back, around 4:30 tomorrow Atlantic time. Next, I'm working with ores, but before I send you the update, I plan to quickly drop the ores back and add a drop shadow for now to see if having them embedded like that looks good. After that though, I'm thinking of working on sharpening the stone brick. Before I start anything new, I'm trying to clear my to do list.
Wow, definitely coming along nicely. I hope to see more of this, I'll keep it in mind once it gets further in release.
This texture pack + bump mapping would be incredible, something I would be very excited to see.
Thanks for the preview.
That pumpkin (yes, I know everyone is talking about the damn pumpkin) looks great. You should keep that effect in mind for when you do other blocks that have similar holes. However, correct me if I am wrong, it may look a bit... awkward when viewing it from another angle?
Thanks, I hope to release it soon.
Bump mapping is something I fully intend to get into with this pack, but at the moment, I really don't know how. I've been looking for a tutorial or something for a long while now, and I'm working on figuring it out on my own now. I have a terrain_nh.png ready, which I believe is the image used for bump mapping, but I need to figure out how to implement it to see if it works.
And thanks, the pumpkin is something that came out nice, but it really doesn't look good from other angles, so I intend to change to a centered 3D look, then add bump mapping effects when I get a grasp of how to do so!
I have a new stone brick texture done. It looks nice, but I'm wondering, do you guys think it looks too different from the default shading, since it is suppose to add more depth to the blocks.

Hey, I got a few pictures done early, so here they are:
I'm loving those shaders! Both you and syclone use them... I really want to, but I tried twice to install it and failed both times.
The desert village screenshot and pumkin screenshot look great! The sand looks better when using the shaders, and at early or late day. And that pumpkin may have a problem when looked at from the wrong angle, but really can look good when looking at it at the right angle, and with shaders.
Thanks for posting those! Oh, could you add (possibly in another spoiler) those screenshots not resized so I can put them in my "Community Screenshots" spoiler in the main post?
Those bricks are quite nice. It looked strange by itself, but I must say that it looks quite good in game.
Yeah, one thing I find is that results in game are a bit unpredictable sometimes, when tiled and in game, when textures are slightly shrunk, the effects can be nice. And that is a shading style I commonly use, beveling the bricks. It looks good, particularly on RPG packs, but I find it looks good in other packs. I wasn't so sure about it, because it isn't the same idea as the default shading, and simply improving on the original shading style is what I intend to make this pack for, but in game at any distance the shading still achieves the point of bringing it out and making it look 3D.
Had bit of a play and I'll get some screens up soon G. I've got a bit focused on the Wheat growth textures and they are taking a little while!
It's looking improved on from the last build i tested you can see the consistentness <---- made that up, coming in nicely with the new blocks
Thanks!
The wheat is something that I subtly avoid doing most of the time, because in any theme of pack, I always have a hard time with it. But I will try to do it with mine as well at some point.
And thanks, the "consistentness" ( ) is something I like about it, so I'm glad it shows!
That's the right size. Thanks, that screenshot looks good too, and it really shows the effect the stonebrick shading has at a distance. I'll put that one in the original post.

Alright, more are coming soon. I recently built the castle for a friend and I love how it looks with the shaders
thanks for those screenshots, I like the jungle temple screenshot best out of those, the time of day and lighting is nice, and it really shows the cobble effect.

I couldn't decide what to work on... I looked through all files in Third Dimension and Definitance, but it took me awhile to decide to work on these, the sandstone glyphs.
I noticed that the shadows in the carvings on the left texture were done with a different opacity on the brush, so it's shadows are a bit darker than that of the right side carvings. I'm probably going to fix that and make the shadows on the left side texture as dark as the ones on the right side texture.

I just worked on it a it more, and I got the lamps done. I'm not sure about the active texture, the lamp produces light, so I added light shading to everywhere except the outer left and bottom edge, since the light would reach everything else, but I think something feels off.
Yeah it looks like you're gonna have to get a bit more creative on the lamp texture, unfortunately. What if you tried making the lighter, yellowy parts pop out and recess the black borders?

I was considering that possibility, and I guess I'll try it. The block is called a "redstone lamp", and redstone appears most commonly as dust, so I can't be sure what the consistency of the stuff inside is. I'll just suppose that the stuff inside is compacted redstone dust, and it is actually outside the constraints of the supports... I'll see what happens.

Yeah... In the default texturepack, the light comes from northwest but you have it northest. That causes a bit of a weird type of shade and that is not too positive. But cornerg strikes again with his amazing textures
Yeah, I noticed that, and I considered remaking them, but forgot to. I plan to redo them again because I'm still not satisfied with the result, so I'll correct the shading. The first block I make in any pack is the stone brick for some reason, and at the time, I had my light source at the top right for my packs, which made that more convenient, but now I realize that it looks wrong, so I'll fix it.
I'm glad you like it though.

Actually, that sounds nice... Something along those lines. "Redefined", maybe something like that.

I may just go with that then. I've been wanting a good name so I can make a title image.
