Wait, let me get this straight..
You first create a Texture Pack, for your own use.
You then upload it to a public website.
Then, you make sure no one but you can see it.
And then you switch textures.
Really, a Texture Pack creator should be able to do that manually, without uploading it. Then again, I may be wrong in what I'm hearing; I just personally think it's a waste of time, and "space" to upload something, if there's only one single person who will benefit from it, while just adding more content to the site, which is obviously un-usable..
I like the interface and portability of the site. Of course if the source were available I would host it myself.
However like I said I was able to achieve the wanted functionality with existing options.
I dunno, it showed up some days ago, and it seems all new sprites cannot be renamed, as well as old sprites with default names, though old sprites that have been renamed previously seem to work fine if I want to rename them again.
Perhaps it's what you're trying to name them to? Apostrophes I think will give you some trouble.
Ok, this is getting odd. My download count is catching my views. Err.. Bram, would it be possible for you to find out for me where people are downloading it from? I've got a feeling someone is direct linking to a customisation of it on Youtube or something. I had that problem when I used dropbox to distribute it. 4/5 of the people who were gave no credit whatsoever.
EDIT: Also, congrats on the two new featurees! Isabella is absolutley beautiful

Yeah that's kind of freaking us out too. It's not through our short url method.....i'm still unsure how this is happening.
Site is awesome it's a bit slow is my only complaint, this should be pinned, oh and I created a account called: hello xD
Pretty fun, though when I create my texturepack I'll defiantly post it on there
Yeah there is a lot of traffic and generally the site uses a lot of bandwidth. If we can get to the point where we are earning enough to afford a dedicated server we will definitely go that route...but not likely as they cost about $100/month.
Most popular pack! I cant believe it :biggrin.gif:
Also, 40 downloads off catching my views.. I literally can't explain it.
EDIT: and.. It's overtaken
I've noticed the same 30 packs have been on the first page for quite some time, I'm assuming that algorithm you guys have been talking about is going to fix that.
Not that i dont like my pack being on the front page, it's just that new packs that get on may never really get to move up without lots of support from their pack's forum page here at the forums.
That was me. I manually edited your download count. We figured out what the bug is-
The download count for higher resolution packs was artificially inflated a bit (and view count a bit deflated) as a result of this bug so I decreased your download count closer to where it should be (since your pack was the only one its affected non-negligibly.

We're working to fix this kind of stagnation. In the next site update (probably tonight) we'll see quite a few changes (this is what happens when Bram and I are in the same room).
We aren't letting people change their pack names because it could be heavily abused. What do you want your pack to be renamed? I'll change it for you.
I get that, that's fine. I think I would like it Called "The Evergreen (Pack)" But right now it's disabled. Do I need to change that for you to change that?
Earlier today, I thought of a "Feedback" function.
Currently, there is the "Comment" function, at the bottom at the page, but whenever I see something named "Comment", I get the feeling that it's reserved for short little messages.
It would be nice to have a little button, which when pressed would make a window pop up. Possibly a window which was loaded within the page, to make sure things wouldn't flood up your taskbar-thing.
It could look like so..

Excuse me if this has been asked before, but a little query:
I've decided to set up my texture pack on the customizer one the terrain.png is done. I noticed this as a tip:

These are my ores: (using iron ore as an example, because they all have the same pattern) Note the dark ring around each chunk. These are my stone textures; one with shading, one without: I want the dark rings in the ores to have shading (or not) based on the chosen stone texture. So, the stone texture with shading can have its shading incuded in the darkened ring. Do you understand? If the ore texture should change based on the stone texture, how do I change the transparent-backgrounded ore texture (as you mentioned) so that the dark rings in the ore textures match up with the chosen stone texture (so that it has shading or not)? I know it's possible; I saw it in Fiftyninecraft.
The stone simply gets placed placed behind any ore image, nothing special. Basically, if you need something to change from ore to ore, you put it in the ore image. So in your case, place a semi-transparent shading around the ore particles inside your ore texture. It will overlay the stone making it darker.
List tags are malformed.
curious, i noticed that when you go to browse the packs, it starts off by showing you the most popular packs, but it seems that maybe the way to do it would be to show the popular packs on the top, with the newest packs down below the top 10-30 packs, that way you have the packs that are new and not as popular on the front page.
or maybe have a small section off to the side for the latest uploads. and possibly a highest rated new pack of the day/week when you get that popularity algorithm worked out.
I'm sorry if I sound naggy or rude, but can you change the name of my texture pack soon please? I wanna release the WIP of it. it is disabled for now, but if i need to change that I can.

will NOT give trouble. No character will give trouble. And it shouldn't have anything to do with new or old textures.
I think maybe it sometimes doesn't work sometimes because the database call gets lost or something....

Just a hopeful suggestion :biggrin.gif:
Yes it will work fine because the final image won't be transparent.
