lol, yeah i missed it :smile.gif: . thought someone said it wasnt there so i never bothered looking lol but i coulda missread too :smile.gif:
Yeah, I posted that, then realised it was there too. My mistake.
If this thread gets enough attention (which it's gotten plenty of, and quickly) then either a mod will read it and decide whether it's worth stickying, or we could PM a mod of this section.
I. Ability to not only have your pack in "maintenance mode", but to have your pack unseen
to everyone with full accessibility, so that compilation packs aren't berserk in numbers
around the site.
- Or alternatively maybe have a check box on whether the textures are your
own or someone elses...
II. Possibly, the website's own forums, with a comment section including a
suggestions subforum and other subforums including that of a more in depth "how to section"
and more.
III. Complementary to a favoring system, the possibility of voting on
top packs and single textures.
I'm sure as the days go on about using this pack, I will come up with more suggestions
to further improve the accessibility of the pack.
Great job on the tool and it seems that I didn't even need
to message anyone for the top dogs of the minecraft forums to find out about the
customizer!
Schwaa.
1. Nobody should be uploading textures from somebody else's pack. The point of this site is for creators to show off their skills and for users to make their own custom downloads based off whatever they want. I highly discourage "compilation packs" being uploaded on our site. Feel free to host them elsewhere because ideally we don't want any duplicate textures anywhere on the site. All of you guys can help moderate this once we add in ratings/voting and reporting.
2. Our own forum?...eventually, yes. Though currently, I feel like minecraftforum.net has a better community and a better jumping point for our site.
The packs have to be uploaded there. (BY THE CREATOR, NOT SOME RANDOM PERSON =P)
So therefore, Doku hasn't uploaded the pack here. It's not here.
Oh, and another idea I had, make it so that we can use all the flower/mushroom textures for either flower/mushroom
Example: You have four flower textures, 2 red and 2 yellow. The red should be able to use all four textures, and the yellow should be able to use all four textures. Same applies to mushrooms.
Hmmm....what was i going to say?........Oh YEAH! Flowers and mushrooms are now mixed together, respectively of course.
This needs to be stickied. And we need some more of the big name texture packs on here.
but i was also wondering, for packs like doku, that have like 5 big offshoots, how are those textures going to be implamented into the doku customizer? Because i think that all of the other really good textures that were mainly inspired from another pack would be great if they were implemented officially as alts for the original. Like getting all the gerudoku textures and some other ones added to the official doku customizer page(once he puts his stuff on the site.). Do you think possibly a user/fan texture submitted section for packs? that way the gerudoku textures could be added to the doku page, by having one of the people who did either gerudoku or the like submit their textures as addon's/alts to the doku pack.

(btw just using doku as an example)
One of two things....either Doku decides he wants those offshoots to taint his page (hehehe) or we keep them separate and just expect users to favorite both packs then mix them how they like in the favorites customizer. Oh and on more possibility (yes i can count), we could persuade Doku to post links to the offshoots to make it easier for users to find and connect them. (just using Doku as example....where did he go?....)
I've updated my thread. Check my signature link out. I gave credit to you guys about three times. =P
I really love the customizer, and I'm glad to be using it for my pack! I hope you guys get this thread stickied, this is just plain awesome. You're my new best friend. =D

Are you able to make the pack names support characters like apostrophes, and are you able to include the word 'Pack' before the version name? When I downloaded mine just then it came up as 'Cheezy 1.05.zip', and I'd prefer than to be 'DaCheezball's Cheezy Pack 1.05.zip', if that's possible.
Hell yeah it is! =D
My twelve thousand downloads agree. =3
Well the texture packs section agrees anyway :wink.gif:
Some of the other sections are..... let's just say, less great...
Doesn't really fuss me though because I spend most of my forum time here anyway! :biggrin.gif:
Got another suggestion for you: you should add a comments section on each of the texture packs pages. That way people could leave feedback/ tell you of bugs or whatever and it might eliminate the need for a separate forum. Plus it would let people express their love for your pack!
I was thinking about this being similar to the way planet minecraft does their comments section except with a slightly neater format. (the ratings system works quite well there too)

We disabled use of apostrophes because allowing them was more trouble than it was worth. I'm afraid you'll have to settle for 'DaCheezballs Cheezy Pack' :sad.gif: . As for including Pack before the pack version in the filename, I think we could make that a toggle-able option.

Hmm? We do have a comment section on every texture pack page (pack creators can disable it) or am I misunderstanding you?. No rating features yet, though.
Just wondering, that little yellow banner, does it just take the name of your own pack and use it? Same with the name. Because I've seen one that said "The grass is greener in the Fiftyninecraft pack" and made me wonder... =P

Hahaha yes!!! I'm glad that caught you by surprise. I'm going to use your username and pack names in the yellow text always.... :wink.gif:
We laughed about that quite a bit during development...glad to see our plans worked...

I kinda lol'd too. =P
I wonder how many others have been fooled...
BTW, it didn't fool me completely. I was kinda suspicious. ;D

Oh... My fail then :tongue.gif:
I obviously didn't look very hard then!
Just noticed a little problem: When you upload the items.png, the minecart with furnace/chest, and the music discs don't have textures. i checked my items.png, it's fine. Those four items are invisible to me though. So... fix. =3
What parts were confusing to you? We want to make this thing as easy breezy as possible.

I like option 2 better than my idea.
Also Doku has started back up again on his pack. infact, he just replied to my comment about the site on the doku forum page http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/207781-32x17-dokucraft-23-beta-450k-downloads/page__st__6180
Thanks man! This is a great community.

Adding a "Report Texture Pack" button for situations where someone uploads a custom painterly.... (true story :biggrin.gif: )

This is great, I can sense this is going to be big. Such a useful and awesome tool and site to texturers, thank you!
