For the past two months my good friend Bramamine and I have worked to create a website that would give a customizer functionality to anyone who wanted it. Today we proudly present MinecraftCustomizer.net! Even if you don't need a customizer, this site is fantastic for hosting your texture packs.
Keep in mind that it's still in Alpha, so to get the site to a fully optimal state we'll need your help by reporting bugs and oversights to help us catch anything we may have missed. We'll be adding a lot more features in the next few days, and support for the most popular mods (we'll need your help to know just what they are). You can send reports/suggestions/feedback/deaththreats to either me ([email protected]) or Bramamine ([email protected]).
This thread should honestly be pinned. Your customizer is nothing, but superb. I
can't wait to see all the big name users posting their packs on the site.

Fantastic job! Months of work payed off!
Thanks! As a texture pack consumer I'm just as excited. You could help it along by giving your favorite texture pack developers a headers up :wink.gif:

Sounds Good. I'll try to message some of the top guys. It seems there are so many people
looking for a spot to customize there alternate textures and your system is extremely
simplistic and easy to learn, so we'll see how it goes...

That's true. Most popular packs also feature alternates. Take Glimmar's Steampunk, for instance, which has over 500 alternates.
I haven't worked my way all through your site yet, but so far it is fantastic. Just this morning I was thinking I would have to make something to customize packs, and here you are with an even better solution than I had in mind. I expect I'll be making my textures available soon.
My texture pack is mostly 32x32. Some of my files though are equivilant to a 64x64 pack, these files are custom fire, particles and items. When I try to upload the items file which is 4mb it says that my files can't be more then 2mb. Surely that can't be a limit for everything, because if it were so you wouldn't be able to house 128x128 packs etc, so I'm guessing the problem lies with the items.png being larger than the rest of the pack. Is there a fix to this besides scaling the items down, because I need the detail? Hope I was clear enough.
Also it doesn't have a place for the bg.png file which is the background for the achievement screen, the slot.png from the gui folder or the custom fire files which are custom_fire_n_s.png and custom_fire_e_w.png. It doesn't have any of the title files either from what I could see. Could these be added?
It's a great site though.
Hmm, when we designed it we didn't realize that MC Patcher allows you to combine varying resolutions across the images- we'll try to rewrite the uploader to support this. We'll add slot/bg/customfire support very soon. Title files should be there (they're named Main Menu Title and Splash).
Thanks for the feedback, though. This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to know.
hey, I am trying to upload my pack and the alts, but i noticed that i have to dissect the individual textures to be able to do that, any way i can just tell the customizer that i want to add an alt dirt, then just reupload the terrain.png and the site can just take the dirt part from that?
Or even make a list of alts then upload a terrain.png with all those alt textures?
Wow that was fast, I wasn't expecting anything to change for a day or so. :ohmy.gif:
It's still not quite enough, the website was saying it was 4mb, but upon closer inspection it would seem my file was around 4.2. Would it be pushy to ask for the limit to be made 5mb to be on the safe side? Sorry for the bother.
We've spent way too much time on the site to let our users feel ignored.... :smile.gif:

The uploader just checks the file name so if you rename your alt image to its original name (terrain_alt.png > terrain.png) it will pluck up all the textures from it as well.
However, if your alt image has a bunch of blank spots, they will still be uploaded and you will be left with a ton of blank textures on your page. Though they are easy to delete with a simple drag into the lava bucket, it would probably be better and easier to copy all of your alts onto your original terrain.png.
The cool thing about doing it this way is the uploader will detect if you have duplicates and will not upload those, so you won't be left with a bunch of junk you have to manually delete.
Hope that clears it up for you.
Thank you DcraftT and everybody else for coming over to our site.
Let me know if you have any more questions, bug reports, feature suggestions, etc.

Changed upload max file size to 5mb. I hope thats enough. It seems like it would take quite a while to upload that! Hehehe.
Speaking of which I'd like to hear back from you guys about site speed and what not. Kaiassc and I will be actively updating the site for quite a while until its perfect so don't be shy with those suggestions :wink.gif:
This is Very cool sir(s) (or mam(s) :biggrin.gif: )
Figured it out. Will be adding extra alts soon to my pack :biggrin.gif:.
Also, is there ever going to be a way to browse through other packs and add them to the pack you may be customizing? (for instance, ive made most my pack using three of my favs, but i dont know what nether textures are good, so i look through a list of nether items in packs and just choose from those. as opposed to leaving the page and searching adn then faving them only to return and have to redo the pack.)
And lastly (hope im not dragging on), possibility to choose various textures from multiple pack sizes(ex: i choose a 32bit texture pack for the terrain, but i want nether textures from a 64bit pack. and the customizer simply makes the whole terrain a 64 bit pack and just doubles the sizes of all the 32bit tiles in the terrain)
Also thank you for your quick and helpful reply! I really hope this gets stickied (stickyed?)

When i go to edit my pack and search for packs it is very very fast., however the "getting started" page takes a looong time to load. Dunno if you can fix that or not. Also, may want to make the instructions for adding alts a bit clearer. Like how you explained it here.

Regarding mixing resolutions of textures:::
This is already done. You can favorite a texture of any resolution and use multiple resolution textures on your customizer page.
The resolution dropdown on top can be used to hide and show certain ones if you want but its defaulted to ALL for this very reason. The resolution dropdown on the bottom is used to tell the downloader which resolution you want to download the pack at (16, 32, 64, 128).
Regarding saving selections in favorites customizer:::
Currently, upon downloading a pack from the favorites customizer, your selections are saved and will load correctly next time you visit that page. However, you bring up a good point in that you may want to save selections without downloading. I will add a button to do so right now and get back to you.
Keep in mind that it's still in Alpha, so to get the site to a fully optimal state we'll need your help by reporting bugs and oversights to help us catch anything we may have missed. You can send reports/suggestions/feedback/deaththreats to either me ([email protected]) or Bramamine ([email protected]).
If you want to be updated on the site's progress, follow me on Twitter, and maybe even that Bramamine kid too.

Ah, woops, forgot about the painting backs. I just added it. Increased upload limit to 4mb (is that high enough?) and added slots.png.
