How can I change the skycolor in a texture pack? I wanted to make custom skies for the different biomes (i.e. dirty sky for swamp biome). I know its possible but I just don't know how :/ Any help is much appreciated.
You know there's a special section on the MC Patcher thread "Information for Texture Pack Authors" which tells you exactly how to use custom colors / custom animations and everything else?
You can only change the fog and sky color of the nether and the end atm. To do that you insert a new "color.properties" file in your texture pack zip or edit the one already there and add/change these lines:

thank you. however I know it's possible to change the sky of the regular world too, as misa's texture pack does this.
Oh, i didn't know that. I looked into misa's pack and here's what you have to do:
The skycolor is changed similar to how the grasscolor is changed using the biome coloring method. The actual colors are stored in misc/skycolor0.png which is a biome palette image. There's a tutorial on how this works by misa here! You may also want to look at misa's pack and maybe use her image as starting point.

Where can't you find it?
It's not in minecraft.jar because mc patcher uses the default colors. If you want it in your pack you have to create it yourself.
Yes. i know i can only do it with mcpatcher. but exactly how do i do that..

The step you've missed is patching the game with McPatcher.
And this thread has been necroe'd at least twice, in case we haven't all noticed.
Especially with the new resource packs and all

I think it's ~assets/mcpatcher/colormap/skycolor0.png or something to that effect... might wanna check the mcpatcher thread.
My pack uses it also! So that's another resource you can use to determine the colormap's location...
Misa's pack also is still using it too I believe.
