I am using the Feed The Beast launcher. Whenever I try to install a texture pack on any modpack (The texture pack I want is Sphax x64, but I have tried others), It doesn't have the custom picture next to the name, just the default one, it says "The default look of Minecraft" as the description, just like the default one, it doesn't change any textures when I select it, and it makes the game really laggy. I am not unzipping the texture pack folder, I am using Optifine (HD Ultra D5, the newest one) and I have installed texture packs before, but this has never happened until now.

Since you are using a Mod pack and a different launcher, your texture pack folder is not the default .minecraft/texturepacks but instead in %appdata%/roaming, it should be something like .feedthebeast, and also since you have a modpack, avoid using Optifine as that is your "lag" issue most likely.
I know I am using the correct texture pack folder. Optifine doesn't lag when texture packs work, just when they're broken, like now. In the Minecraft screen where you choose the texture packs, it says the file name for the Sphax .zip file, and lists it as a texture pack, but the description and textures are all the same as default.
