Hey G,
How about some "Idea-posts"...
What I want to say is if you run out of Ideas for the new textures, someone could help you...
That would be a great way to see, what the community would like to see...
I don't know if you planed something for the melon allready, but what about something else than watermelon?
For example:
(Edit: Am I the only one who posts in this topic? I want to say that we should all support G! He is trying to create beautiful and natural textures, but nearly noone seems to appreciate that. I think some more feedback on a texture would help very much. For now it seems that I'm nearly the only one who replies to a new texture )
Sorry for the late reply. I had tried it, had to sleep before I finished, but it never worked out. I will attempt it again, as I don't have any fallback at the moment, but if I can't seem to match that type of melon, I will probably try making the traditional watermelon instead. Conveniently, I had thought of being different and making a melon like that before, but it didn't occur to me since starting this 128x128.
I would definitely take ideas, since my idea-pond is in a drought right now. But just bare in mind that I may not be able to make everything. Some things may just be beyond me.
(It kind-of seems that way... This thread has plenty of views, but only you seem to be replying...
IF ANYONE READS THIS, FEEL FREE TO POST YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE PACK TOO!
That may help.)

Nice pack, i really like the details in it. Though i would offer up this advice to shrink your sun by about 5-10%. it just seems a little too huge for minecrafts sky. Other then that keep up the great work, ill be following and rooting for your completion.
also cant wait to see your moon and night time sky!
I really like it, but there is something i always hated, which is the constant repeating texture of blocks like stone bricks the birch wooden planks, etc. when they are tiled. I know its a lot of work (understatement) but do you think its possible to vary them (random CTM or whatever the hell it is).... Terminology changes to much. Anyway, it looks great, and i grabbed a banner for my signature
Hmm. Random CTM is always an option, and my goal is to feature a lot of CTM, like Ovo's and Johnsmith (both of which have tons of CTM features), but I'm not sure what you mean for the bricks. The way bricks work is by having rectangles repeat like that, but I could always find something to spruce it up, if you could entail more what it is you would want.

I have gotten some videos on my other packs, but this one isn't released yet, because it is still an early work in progress, so no one has a legitimate copy yet. But anyone is free to after I release this.

I realize i was extremely unspecific there... I'm not exactly a pro with texture packs, but, especially with, say, wood floors and the such, its not a constant repeating pattern. For example, you may have, semi-randomly, different sized planks, kind of wherever. What i was meaning is that, if possible is there a way to have say, 5 or 6 dif. blocks for wood, etc. that would make it feel less "rigid" and "perfect", if you know what i mean, and so, when placed, it randomly picks 1 of the few options.

That is certainly doable.
One of the features of ctm is "random ctm" that does just that. I like the idea, and since I'm still getting inspiration for some more blocks, I'll add some ctm in the meantime. The bricks could have imperfections, but what of the wood? Perhaps some birch wood planks could be missing nails? And perhaps the other wood textures could have knots and splits? I'm not sure if I want to make the wood other than birch have "ends" like typical planks, since I'm going for a different style, but the above would add a sense of natural imperfection, that would look nice.

The sun is still possibly being worked out. The sun doesn't take that long to do, so I will still experiment. I think I have some more ideas for the "ring" that appears around the sun when looking at it in reality, so I may shrink the sun and try to implement that.
Thank you though! I hope to at least have a release soon. The moon should be soon, as I want the sun and moon to both be finished near to each other. Custom skies is a non vanilla feature, but it uses MCPatcher or Optifine, which most people use anyway as a standard, like myself. I always liked the look of custom skies, especially night skies, so I hope to implement them.

Yeah, whatever works, just something to make it less perfect. Anyway, the pack looks great, and i cant wait for it to be finished. norm i try to avoid larger packs cause my comp. doesn't like em, but i guess ill be rearranging some memory now!
Ok, I'll apologize now for being a useless tool recently. I haven't been posting textures for any of my packs. I've been changing my daily routine to a much more healthy fit, but in combination with school, the times that I had the ambition to texture and the times that I had time to texture haven't been colliding.
I have started to work on some fixes though. I feel like I've finished enough blocks that I can set a checkpoint and look back at what I can improve on. I do that occasionally, though it happens more often as a pack progresses. As such, I'm redoing some of the worst textures and, as requested, I'll be adding some more CTm to spice up the textures.
To tide you over until I have some finished products, here is a preview of my heavy work in progress stoneslab_top. I found the current one far too smooth and round for a stone slab, so I'm making it to look more like tiles. As you can see, the edges could use more contrast, and the light shading could be more noticeable, as well as rough. But it will be improved.
Hmm... The CTm slab tops in Ovo's Rustic looked reeaally nice... V Hint-hint... V
I was just exiting this post after reading through all of the comments, but I thought better and had to come back to comment.
I really enjoy the feel of this texture pack; the style is very consistent.
You keep saying that you aren't very good at tiling, but I disagree. The way the sand is tiled made me giddy when I saw it.
Something that bothers me a bit that's really more of a personal preference thing, is the way the cobblestone is textured. To me, it shouldn't be so smoothed out and patterned like brick, but again, it's just a personal preference.
Love the way this is turning out, keep up the great work!

The consistency is really doing itself in this pack. I'm making these textures using the most developed styles I have, and I seem to have a set style that I'm best at. And that sand was one of the blocks that I am happier with than I expected. I'm never really happy with it, but the tiling isn't as bad on that as I expected while making it.
Regarding the cobblestone, that is something that I guarantee you I will look into before I release this. People brought up the same thing on my Definitance pack. Honestly, I like the look of more wild cobblestone as well, and I have these pictures in my head of rocks making up the cobblestone texture, round, smooth rocks. Unfortunately, that is something I have always struggled with. I do fully intend to try until I make something. Because, frankly, I couldn't allow myself to push out another pack with brick cobblestone. It's like making the bricks out of wood; the block and texture don't match.

Actually the structure of round cobble is the easy part . Personally, I fail at the rest of it (making it smoother, etc.)
Anyways... You just need to start with drawing some weird and mazy lines... It's result should be some round and natural looking structures... Afterwards you just fill in the space between the lines, fix the tilling, make the lines and the rest of the texture smoother, add some shading and...
Voila! You have some nice round, natural rocks
I love this, it's smooth but not photo realistic. I really like the ores and bricks. Sig'd.
:3
Edit: oh dang, it isn't working.
Hmm. Is that what is in your signature now? Try copy and pasting the code again. It looks like there is a url tag hidden within the url tag, cancelling it out.

Well, that's easy to say. I'll have to give it a try again, but my freehand does not look natural. If I draw fast freehand, it may look a but more natural, but it would never tile.
Sorry for not working on this in awhile, I was renovating the Serene Scape thread.

This looks very amazing. The only things you should change is the emerald ore. The emerald ore looks nice alone, but awful when tiled. But everything else is very good.
