Granted, but the bottom line of my point was that it's just not worth getting too upset over what Kas did, and on that note, I'm not sure how they looked before but his tools seem to more or less be similar to how you did the mushroom, using the originals as a base and making something slightly different from it
but I digress, too bad about the spiders not coming out right, and lovely new shots, bit hard to see though with my laptop facing a bright window :tongue.gif:
are the paintings something original or are they part of that artpack I heard brief mention of earlier?
Those paintings use the Tiny Media Empire art I linked to, yes. Don't worry, not all of the paintings are grey (I just wanted grey ones in that room) (five are green, four are blue, four are red/orange, and five are grey). I'm still awaiting a response on whether or not I may use them. Assuming I /don't/ get permission, I'll either end up using nature photographs like I did in TTP 2.5, or maybe some of my own art (if I can get it to look right - most of my stuff wouldn't fit too well, I think).
I wish you could craft wool stairs and half-blocks. Then we'd be able to do better furniture. Oh well. And, for that matter, I wish stairs would give you back a stair block when destroyed, instead of a regular block.
I've got to Echo everything that the good LostKingpin said. I have been, and likely will remain, a fan of the painterly pack for the simple reason that its easy to customize. However, you my good lady are the originator of the art style, and thus the one whom I feel truly deserves the praise here.
I'm eagerly awaiting this release. One note though: The Hud, have you tried making the box background transparent?
Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Notch deigned to intentionally break the alpha channel of .png files, and clamp it to one-bit alpha (that is, either 100% transparent or 100% opaque, rather than the format-standard 256 levels of opacity). This affects nearly every graphic, except for a few random hard-coded exceptions. Specifically rain.png, shadow.png, pumpkinblur.png, part of gui.png, and the water and lava tiles of terrain.png ONLY when at greater than 16x resolutions (WHAAT).
So unless you're talking about the backgrounds of the squares in the bottom-middle of the HUD, I'm afraid I can't do that.
omg I want this pack so bad...lol. I've been sitting here for the last 45 minutes or so reading this ENTIRE thread (it's not that big, yet, but still xD) and I gotta say, mad props to you, miss. Amazing artwork, and I'm terribly sorry to hear about the dark history of the Painterly origins. It's really a shame D:
I hope this one goes better for you, this is by FAR the best 16x pack I've seen, which has me ecstatic because I play MC on a crappy laptop and 16x is all it can handle lol. This is absolutely perfect for me, suits my personality and technical needs xD I wish I could give you more than credit and praise, but unfortunately thats all I've got :smile.gif:
Oddly enough, that's exactly what I'm talking about Miss Taehl. Regardless of what you do decided on doing, thank you for the information, I have know learning a LOAD more than I knew. In fact, I'm now pondering making partial textures and releasing them to the public to use.
I'll see what I can do with it. I have yet to really decide what I want to do with the GUI, though. I've been looking at various old games and their GUIs, but haven't seen anything that's very inspirational. My main problem is, I feel like doing something beautiful and pixel-art-y, like Doku's pack does (which I'm quite capable of drawing), however, I also want each window to have a unique texture (like wood for the workbench, stone for the furnace, etc.). Even Googling for things like "beautiful GUI" hasn't been helpful.

Hmmmmm Well it sounds like you might have an ok plan there for gui :ohmy.gif: wood for workbench and chests, stone for furnaces and dispensers...would you put a fuel chart on the furnaces? :biggrin.gif: thats my particular favorite, even though I have 'em all memorized by now xD
What if you gave them an old feel? kind of worn and cracked, over-used dull color look?
Also, what are your ideas for general menu gui? Like the hotbar, pause menu, etc.?

All I have left to do is the GUI, dyes, mobs, and a little general tweaking.
Also, I love the architecture in your most recent sample pictures. I've never thought of doing something like that, but it seems so obvious now.
Just cover your ears and think happy thoughts
I hope to god you actually mean that it looks like Painterly Pack was inspired by this.
You sir, are direly misinformed

O and a sheep.
lol for real though, amazing work :smile.gif:
All because of you.
You awesome Monster.
