Hello I am trying to make a texture pack on my Macbook Pro laptop but I can't find an image editor to edit the files. I have unarchived minecraft.jar and put all the files I need together but none of the editors are working for me! GIMP is way to complicated, it won't even let me change the colour without 10 minutes. Paint.NET opens up a text file with tonnes of lines full of random gibberish. I can't download MS paint (and that one sucks anyway) because of the Mac and I can't get anything paid. Please help me! Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Pinta doesn't work either.
EDIT: Pixen won't even open. It just brings up an error message saying that my Mac can't open it with anything available. Pixalator and Sketch don't work either. I'm starting to think there are no good free ones...
EDIT (again!): I found a program called paintbrush that is really easy to use. I would appreciate any knowledge about it. Thanks for your suggestions everyone!
Learn to use GIMP. It's not hard once you figure it out. If you're having trouble, it's because you're inexperienced. Work on that.
Also, Photoshop runs on Mac so no excuses about not being able to get something that you need to pay for. Well... unless you're poor like most people these days. But still, having a Mac is no excuse.
No I can't get anything paid because I have no paypal or anything and I don't believe in putting credit card numbers in because my friend got robbed from a big business company for all the money on her credit card because she put it in online.
I can't find any tutorials on how to use GIMP either and I am not going through 10-60 minutes again for a single colour.
Pixen just brings up an error message saying that my Mac can't open it with anything available. I told you that GIMP won't work and I'm frustrated that people keep saying to use it! I spent 5 hours trying to figure out that stupid thing and it doesn't work (and I would much rather play my new video game then figure out how to use a stupid thing like that). Please stop saying I need something paid or GIMP or Pixen. They don't work!
What do you mean it takes 10 minutes to change a colour in GIMP? It's not very complicated. Just go look at a beginner's starting guide video and you'll be fine.

There's yet more to come!
I don't gte how you can't use GIMP.
It's very easy to use; click the black square to choose colours, click the pencil tool to draw, what's so hard about it?
Anyway, here's a simple guide:
