I'm making a texture pack using the new snapshot and I'm trying to make leather armour textures but the new colourful leather is messing it up. It makes everything that's grey (Would a semicolon go here?) brown. I figured since you can change grass biome colour you can change the armour colour. If you can change it what file is i in? If you can't is there anyway to get rid of it? Please help.
You can't currently change the color it remaps to, only make it not be recolored.
Take your leather armor files that you don't want to recolor and copy them and rename them with an _b (cloth_1_b.png, cloth_2_b.png).
Also, make sure to do the same thing with the icons in /gui/items.png.
Make the original armor icons already have color, and then make the non-recolored armor icons be the same icon.
Doing this will make armor have your intended color both in the snapshot and official/legacy versions. It will not be recolored, as the textures that they use are still present, but the recolored versions cannot be seen.

It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."
