Lol. It is true. I want to make a texture pack (32 X 32 or 64 X 64) I have photoshop elements 9. But I just SUCK SO MUCH. How do you texture makers do it? Any pro tips?
read the stickies, specifically the all inclusive guide to texturing. Also if you wanna make a 32x or 64x I suggest you practice on 16x first and then move on to 32x or 64x.
Don't worry, I suck too!
If you can't do pixel art or fancy art like the bigshot pros here do, find something you ARE good at.
I don't have that fancy skill, so I just used my noggin, and came up with a pattern, and figure out complex things like the Connected Textures Mod.

Theevilpplz is so fabulous, hetrosexual men turn bi when he passes by.
I pretty much sucked at art when I started my texture pack, but if you practice a lot and use all the tools you have in various/creative ways you'll get the hang of it.
Just keep doing it, and if you don't know things like shading follow tutorials or look at other texture pack examples (don't copy though :P)
If you make skins you should make your texture pack like a skin (awesome shading cool colors that contrast). I cant help unless you show us some previews of you textures :). My first texture pack sucks but after I made a few I got used to it and created much more awesomer texture packs. You should try making a multi-colored stuff so it looks detailed but isn;t really (I did it once, it looked soooo awesome!)
Click it or it will die...A cold painful death.
