Hey folks! I love using my http://www.mcpatcherhd.com/vanilla-hd-texture-pack/ texture pack, but I absolutely hate the water and lava in it. Also the fire. Holy crap the fire is bad. Anyway, I was wondering the easiest way to replace the HD textures for water/lava/fire with the regular ones. I saw MCpatcher has a default liquids, but nothing worked.
Open the .zip file that you've downloaded, make sure Minecraft is closed, and look for either a 'anim' folder, or a bunch of pngs (They would be called things like custom_water_still.png and custom_water_flowing.png, you can figure out the rest.) and delete those. Start Minecraft back up, and enjoy!
if the water is 16x and has no animations at all, that is a common MCPatcher bug that can *probably* be fixed by re installing it
but if the water texture is upsized (same resolution as the pack you're using) and seems to be moving slow, that's just how MCPatcher responds to using default water with a higher sized pack.
Well, I did some research and, with Steelfeathers thread I've got it down to what I need to do. Basically, I'll be creating proportionally "flowing" water to lava and simply enlarge the original fire. Once, I've finished, I'll post it in a fresh thread and link from here.
Why is my water and lava so slow when moving?
