...I would do it myself but I have no clue how to.
Here are step by step instructions:
1. Find .minecraft
2. Open the .bin folder in .minecraft, then load the minecraft.jar compressed folder (using winrar or similar programs)
3. Extract the image named "items.png" from your GUI folder in minecraft.jar
4. Open the image in any image-editing software (Photoshop, MS Paint, etc.)
5. Return to the .minecraft folder and open the texture packs folder within
6. Create a zipped folder (.zip) in the texture packs folder (It's name is not important)
7. Create a GUI folder in the zipped file you have created (the new folder's name must be spelled exactley as is in minecraft.jar)
8. Drag items.png into the GUI folder.
9. Run minecraft. Press the Texture Packs button. Click on your new zipped file. Click done. Play minecraft.
Swords will now look like Scythes if you edited the image correctly. (They will still be named "Sword" and will still use the same crafting recipe. If you would like this changed, most likely so you could have swords and scythes, request a mod or make one on your own.)
I thought I might show you why I asked for it, but I can't get the picture to work, so basically my skin is Death, and I'm working on an adventure map with my friend who comes over on weekdays (:
