I have made the terrain.png for a 5x texture pack, and to test it I switched it with the terrain.png of a premade 4x texture pack. When I started minecraft though, everything was just blank white blocks (except for pumpkin and watermelon stems which were blank yellow blocks! what should I do?
The terrain file must be 2^x in size, but only more than 16x16 in total size, that means it can only be 16, 32, 64, 128, 256(default terrain size), 512(32x texture packs) and so on. If you're trying to make a terrain file with 5 pixels for each block it will most likely not work.
Actually, it can also be 1x, 2x, 4x and 8x that I know of, but by that point it just becomes a joke =/

Wind Waker Texture Pack and for Pocket Edition! ~ Texture Pack Central - Large directory of Texture Packs!
I downloaded a 4x texture pack from the internet that was made by someone else and worked, and replaced the terrain.png file with my custom one.
In my custom Terrain.png each block ws 5 pixles by 5 pixles because I resized the terrain.png to 80 by 80 pixles.
Do texture packs with odd numbers work? would they work wih a existing patch? Would making a texture pack in something like 8x be a better use of my time?
Actually non-standard resolutions do work.
All you have to do is back sure it's the right size.
A 16x texture pack terrain.png would be 256x256.
So a 6x texture pack terrain.png is 96x96.
You can use it without the mcpatcher (I think, haven't properly checked), and all the pixels are equal sizes, and all fit.
If you use the mcpatcher, then for some reason some pixels on the blocks are bigger than the others.

Thank you very much for the help!
