Ah, weird that those doors wouldn't support transparency. Anyway, yeah. I like the dark textures for the Netherite tools. The dark diamond did seem kind of odd.
The no transparency support for doors anymore doesn't seem too bad, but I really don't understand paintings not having transparency anymore. Is that just a temporary thing or do we not know yet?
Alright. I don't know if anyone read the previous, now edited out versions of this post. Here are my new textures for chiseled and smooth sandstone. These textures were taken from older versions of JSL, when Jim used to include more extra/unused JSC/JSL alternate textures in a separate folder. The red sandstone textures were unskillfully recolored from regular sandstone textures from the aforementioned ones. I think I did alright. The top and bottom of the chiseled sandstone blocks were made to match chiseled stone brick and chiseled quartz more. I've made a lot more edits to various other blocks and things of course, as seen in the white concrete here in the picture. All these changes are for my personal use only and my version will of course never be posted anywhere online. Hope you all enjoy my take on the sandstone.
I know they changed the color of warped and crimson wood the last snapshot or so, warped looks a bit duller now, which is kind of a shame. You dulled the color of it in your Pre 5 release, but I think you made crimson wood much more vibrant and it matches a lot more with the crimson nylium, than the warped wood does with the warped nylium. Anyway, interested to see where you'll take the glass patterns. The diamond one is nice, as are the circles and the one you did for the black stained glass. The light gray glass isn't very transparent though and looks a lot like a Japanese paper wall, which seems quite out of place with the more European style patterns.
I thought crimson should be more red after watching the film Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi) by Studio Ghibli (Hayao Miyazaki), great film.
I then made all the crimson blocks have the same sort of theme colour to match the fences.
Warped is still looking a little off, maybe more vibrant blue to match with the crimson?
As for the glass, this is just a start, it is a lot of work to balance 17 different textures for the glass.
The Japanese style (Shoji Panel) are from the JSC pack, these are paper style wall, it used to be Gray Glass but is now on Light Gray Glass) they are not meant to be see through but do pass light (you can see through it when right up close), maybe it doesn't go with the other textures too well and I may move things around a bit in the future.
The white glass is also not as transparent as the other stained glass so it can be used for walls that let light in.
Nothing is ever fully finished.

John Smith Legacy Bedrock 1.16.0 and John Smith Legacy JSC Bedrock 1.16.0
For all those Bedrock players patiently waiting for the packs, your wait is over... I've just uploaded the 1.16 pack for the Minecraft 1.6 Nether Update for Bedrock.
All the new textures ported from Java Edition, plus lots of small updates to better polish the rest of the pack.
Also be careful of the Respawn Anchor as they blow up!
Two questions: Why does the chiseled blackstone brick not have the piglin snout on it? Granted the regular chiseled stone brick has no pattern, so I guess it makes sense for the chiseled blackstone brick to match. Second, why in v5 of JSL Java pack, does the black bed now have red eyes on it?
The Blackstone is as you said to match the other chiseled blocks.
Now the beds, the green bed has a creeper face so I thought about adding some other beds covers for some of the other mobs.
I thought of the black bed with Enderman eyes would be a bit of fun (red in JSL and purple in JSC), I did play with the yellow or orange bed for Blaze but I couldn't get it looking any good so that was scrapped.
Maybe the brown bed could have a Cow face?
I'm just playing with a few ideas and see what people like.
I've made a start on the 1.17 snapshots and have just released the second update, here's a short list of what's been added or changed, see the changelog for all the details.
Reworked the Cauldron models to use common templates.
Custom Lightning Rod model.
All four copper blocks.
Custom item model for all the Candles plus all the coloured candles.
Powder Snow in a bucket.
Many Amethyst blocks.
Adjusted the Copper Ore and Ingot to better match the new Copper Blocks.
Bundle looks a little less blurred and more fine detail.
Having a problem again. I was attempting to change the glass block and pane textures back to the old textures in v8 (just noticed v9 is out) of JSL Java, but some of the glass blocks were missing their top and/or bottom textures. I thought maybe it was a CTM issue with Optifine, but that's not it and using the old properties files from the 1.15.2 glass textures, where you didn't have a properties file for glass pane top, didn't solve the problem either. The models files don't seemed to have changed at all from 1.15.2 to 1.16.4, so I'm stumped.
And another problem with the Crimson stem and stripped stem. I deleted the top texture and replaced them with the same texture for both and I'm still getting the newer texture on top and bottom and I don't know how to get rid of it. The model files are pointing to the right top texture, but it's not working.
Update: Also unable to change the warped and crimson signs back to their old textures from 20w22a.
Some of the glass blocks have custom top and bottom textures, you would have to change the model files too, don't forget that if you are using OptiFine, then you would have to change the ctm for the glass also.
The logs are using CTM textures in the optifine directory, so changing only the textures in block is not enough to change the textures if you are using OptiFine.

Not worth releasing a 13th version over, but v12 of the 1.16.5 pack, you made a small error with the Orange Tulip 3 model file. You had typed orange_tulip_pot3, instead of orange_tulip3, which made it a missing texture.

As I said, keep an eye on the two bug reports I posted, when fixed the paintings, beacon beam, doors and a few other will be fixed too.
Don't hold your breath though, Mojang can sometimes take a long time to fix these sort of issues.

It's hard to follow if you keep editing the same post.
I like the look of the chiseled top so you've inspired me to change the chiseled top to better match the other chiseled blocks.

lol, I know. I just didn't want to double or triple post, as that would seem a bit much. Glad you like the top of the chiseled blocks.

Ah, yes, Spirited Away. Been a long, long time since I've watched that. Anyway, yeah. A more vibrant blue would be better for the warped wood.
John Smith Legacy 1.16.0 v1 and John Smith Legacy JSC 1.16.0 v1 for Java released.
Minecraft 1.6 Nether Update is out now.
Lots of small changes and general resource pack clean-up for the new release.
Bedrock packs will take a little more time to sort out.

Oh, ok, thanks.
Edit: Never mind about the crimson and warped signs and the black bed, I should've know that those textures would be in the textures/entity folder.
