This resource pack is as realistic as possible but is has some cartoonish textures in it.
I started this resourcepack 2 years ago, improving and changing blocks in every update, learning new texturing techniques and now i'm working on doing the best textures as my brain can do.
In the update 5 and upper I implement normal maps and specular maps to see the parallax oclusion effect. ( 3d effect on textures)
To Play Like the screenshots you must download glsl shaders and the shaderpack.
Remember this resource pack is in development, so expect some bugs and not finalized stuff.

Does the bump-mapping work out-of-the-box, or do I need to install something to make it work?
you have to install shaders and a shaderpack compatible with POM ( parrallax occusion mapping) , in optifine 1.8-1.9 its implemented by default in video settings.
Feel free anyone to reply! telling me what i'm doing wrong and for suggestments too!
I downloaded both the 1.9 texture pack and the shaders you have modified and it seems that only the quartz is bumpy/3d. im using optifine 1.9 and have the shaders in the shaderpack folder.

I Updated the texture pack for 1.9! ( working in 1.8 too) download and see for yourself

Yes!!! They're bump-mapped.
I use crazy bump and shadermap 2, and photoshop to more realistic effect.
