Sorry to see that you don't like new style, but I'm liking it a lot so far. I think perhaps they could do away with some of the heavier outlines and use lower contrast gaps like what dirt has.
If you are changing the style that heavily, I will not be fan of this pack anymore. You are making textures for yourself, Ringstoner, but you should still agree others critsm. I want you keep the old style, it was something fricking cool. You could add alternate Triton flavor with those, but please keep your old textures!
Here's some tweaks I did, mainly darkening stone and removing the hard black lines in various spots, which looked awful in retrospect.
Ultimately I can keep the old style to some extent, but there's a lot of inconsistency in the current textures that needs to be fixed either way.
One bit of the old style I might be willing to keep is the heavy, wavy textured details like what bedrock has, in place of the speckly painted details I wanted to implement, or use some sort of mix of the two like what podzol and a lot of the items use...
EDIT: also, ignore the grass and podzol colors... haven't decided what to do with those yet.
Honestly, I still don't like it. It looks much more amateurish and rather odd looking. Your old textures were, by far, miles ahead. They felt smooth, cohesive and had the right amount of contrast. These... I'm not so sure.

I'd have to disagree, many of the old textures, especially the dirt, gravel, and planks, were awful IMO.
I'll go back to the old detail shading style (like in the picture below), but I can't budge much more than that. I'd encourage you and shadowforge to wait until I get some in-game screenshots prepared before deciding wether or not you like the 'new style'. (currently, I don't have much to show for in-game pics because the dev version of the pack is quite a mess right now)
First time posting on here and it's to say I love how well this is turning out and I cannot wait until it's 100% done or magically hits the point where everything I use is retextured lol. Keep up the amazing work.
I think the in-game screenies are really going to show the difference. I'd hold off on the final opinions before you've seen them, will look quite different due to the lack of auto side shading. I really quite like the new style though.

As Ringoster and XSSheep say, everyone has to hold judgement on what the new textures look like until you can see pics of them in game. Ringoster lives and breaths these textures as he edits them and I'm no expert, but I'm guessing they'll look better. I'm rather liking the new set of textures, but I think the rest of you guys are more familiar with Ringoster's original work, so I understand your concerns. My advice would be to trust the artist because the artist is always privy to the bigger picture.
Wow. I haven't seen many cartoon packs that could rival Sphax, but this one definitely does. Keep up the great work, can't wait to see this pack finished!
I absolutely love this pack, although the sounds do get on my bad side. I don't want to seem rude or anything, but (for example) punching wood reminds me of punching a cardboard box as it gives off a "hollow"-feeling sound.
I can agree with you. But on the upside it's not hard to just remove the sounds. And I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for the Ringoster to offer a sound free edition when it's done.

I made the wood sound really punchy, but it sounds awful and overly bassy when it gets downpitched while hitting wooden stuff... drives me crazy too.
How do you get the little box thingy that lets you cycle through images?
You can set up an album of photos on imgur, then take the album code (should be in the URL somewhere, something like imgur.com/a/codehere), then in a forum post, write (imgurgallery)albumcodehere(/imgurgallery) only with square brackets instead of parenthesis.

Where can I get some awesome banners?
Where is the donate button?
Has anyone else observed the epicness that is Triton with TME shaders?
I guess you can't really use this pack in 1.7.10.
Nice to see ya back, twiggholmes!

Lol, yeah, doesn't quite work.
Working on a slight GUI rework; thoughts?
