For the past several weeks I've been working on a major overhaul of Fibercraft. Several years ago, when I decided to try my hand at this, I wanted to do something that hadn't been done to death. My skills are limited to mostly digital collage / photomanipulation which was a big factor. I finally settled on a Little Big Planet type style but dominated by fiberous materials - fabric, embroidery, knitting, carpets, basket weave & on rare occasions, paper.
After years of not playing or looking at my pack, I realized a lot of things, which means a lot of changes. I've also learned a few things since I have been working as an abstract painter (which also meant doing my own photography & Photoshop work on my art). I do have a BFA in Digital Art, which I largely do nothing with outside of Minecraft Anyways, on to the changes:
The first big change will CONSISTENCY. I think I need that word tattoo'd on my face. It's a thing I apparently suck at in, well, every part of life (sigh). For example, my old pack included a different texture for every single plank. Not anymore! All planks use the exact same texture, even across mods, but it's been colorshifted to match it's companion bark texture. Carpet is the texture of choice for the vast majority of blocks. All gem blocks in the base game use the same texture. All textures are chosen with a specific eye on the mods that use the base game textures. CONSISTENCY is a good thing visually & it really makes a huge difference.
The second big change is size. 128px was just too small to capture the detail of fabrics & embroidery very well so I'm upping it to 256px. Any larger & I run into other issues, even if the block textures would look even better. 256 is a good middle ground that offers huge visual improvements.
ITEMS ARE A PAIN IN THE REAR! Seriously, I had about 50% of them done, loaded the game & about cried when I saw the invisible edges. The fix is seriously time consuming but I won't released UNTIL that's mostly fixed.
MANY MODS WILL BE SUPPORTED!! I play with 52 mods currently so, yeah, those will be supported. HarvestCraft & many of Pam's other mods will have their sub-pack downloads. There are 1,678 textures in Harvestcraft alone, which will be done last. Initially most of those textures will remain at 128px & I'll work on the new stuff first. Then I'll revamp the old.
Biomes O'Plenty is still supported (and almost finished!). Familiar Fauna & Serene Seasons will also be supported!
OreCore & Extra Gems have all the blocks finished, items are work-in-progress
BiblioCraft & Crayfish's Furniture Mod are still supported. They largely use base game textures so it's mainly just a few items (the 128px textures will be subbed in until I redo them)
ATL Candles is the newly supported mod as is Bark Books, Nether Chest, Garden Stuff, Waystones, Vanilla Tweaks, Vanilla Builders Extension, Owls, Unlimited Chisel Works (partial support on this massive mod) & a few others will be supported
Storage Chests, Ender Compass, and Backpacks have contained support as well. The 128px textures that still work will be subbed in until I finish the new stuff.
Block Variations are still a thing I'm going to do, but those aren't an initial-release priority.
1.13 will be done but only when I can install it along with Forge & my mods
I'm hoping to get a beta done sometime in Mid-September. It should have been like, now, except the item textures messed things up badly. ugh.
In progress shots:
All new machines! The slimes in the background are a WIP. The faces were from my add-on pack Toys & Candy and haven't been re-done yet.
Explore the world of Minecraft in all its soft, fuzzy glory. Run from huggable creepers, look out for silverfish covered in lint, and be wary of the suspiciously cute zombies. Every surface and object in Minecraft is now made of fabric, paper, or embroidery designs (and a few buttons).
NOTE: You will need to use MCPATCHER to see all the features of this pack. Optifine will not show all of the features but you can use it.

Version 7.0 has REMOVED support for larger mods.
Large mods have been separated into add-on packs. See the download section for all the new add-on packs.
Supported Mods (built-in support) Previews Send me a link and I'll add support in the next update! If you need an update to a mod I no longer support or the items I've said I won't do, just let me know and those will be in the next version of Fibercraft.
Yes, you can use it on your server or put it in a video/screenshot/ etc. Just give credit and a link whenever possible.
If you create a video, please send me the link and I'll post it here. Reviews don't have to be glowing, I'll post any honest review that provides a thoughtful critique of the pack.
You can use textures in re-mix packs WITH CREDIT AND A LINK.
* Design of the witch's and villager outfits are based skins from NovaSkin.me. ** To see the snow golem’s head, you MUST download the snow golem mod from TEXTURES & EMBROIDERY: The textures from this pack come from a variety of sources. Some are created from photos I've taken including embroidery, items, and fabrics. Some I created in Photoshop using a variety of sources. The embroidery & cross stitch designs are commercial-use designs, the images can be distributed just not the machine pattern file. I've also used images from the following sites: http://www.3d-diva.c...ure_homepg.htmlhttp://www.plaintextures.comhttp://etc.usf.edu/c...ctures/buttons/
And you said you didn't have any ideas for tools.
Anyway, good job on your pack!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
The roses are wilted, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head.
This pack is really lovely! Very consistent, with a nice feeling and i love your style and what you've done with all these fabrics! Amazing work and great world!
I love your skies, items and mobs... well, the entire pack in fact!
Plus you've been so fast... mod support and all that jazz! Besides, do I dream or is it real plushes of steak and squid?
Great Job! Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I just downloaded yours since it looks absolutely breathtaking!! Like Alvoria, my gaming PC is in a rotten location so I use my laptop. Here's hoping it doesn't melt (extra fan is at the ready lol)
Good eye on the foods! The raw & cooked forms of the steak, mutton, and squid are all plush (felt actually). I discovered that a lot of parents now make plush foods for their kids (or you can buy them) rather than plastic. Name a food and someone has done a plush version.
And you said you didn't have any ideas for tools.
Anyway, good job on your pack!
LOL, I still don't. The invention of computerized embroidery, as I've learned, means that you can find embroidery designs of almost anything. I even found several designs for spark plugs. The hoe isn't great but I'm a bit hesitant to find out what a "Hoe Embroidery Design" image search would return with so the one with the awkward angle stays until I can find a better one that I'm allowed to use.
Nice Resource pack! I love the theme you are going for it feels so different.
Its almost like little big planet, as someone mentioned before
Thank you! There are so many awesome packs out there in so many great themes I realized I had to find something a bit different. "Little Big Planet" and "Viva Piñata" were my first thoughts. I made a piñata squid and wanted to gouge my eyes out placing all those little rectangles so I decided to start using my giant library of strange (and oddly fabric & paper heavy) textures. When I did my first custom sky and realized that Minecraft's sky box was an actual box I knew I had to hang clouds & stars from ropes. It's kind of weird wandering an infinite world with such a finite looking sky
This looks very nice, you've got talent
and thanks for adding Oceancraft
Thank you! I love Oceancraft, especially the little details like making the coral & sea sponges give off light. It makes the oceans really beautiful to explore, especially at night.
I had to officiate my account with Curse just so I could comment on this pack. Very awesome job! I love the amount of detail you put into it; the glowstone and redstone blocks are the best I've seen out of any resource pack. And I spent several minutes just staring at some powered minecart rails on a switch just because I was so impressed with the embroidery. Plus, I kinda ate a creeper to the face because I was admiring the work on his texture when he got too close... (my bad.. forgot I was on survival...)
The *only* issue I run into is the sky. It's perfectly done, don't get me wrong: I'm just claustrophobic and somehow it triggered the phobia. That's actually a good thing when you can do that via a video game. Maybe I just stared at the sky and the clouds too long? Either way, keep up the fantastic work and I look forward to future updates! This pack managed to de-throne my go-to resource pack of Sphax.

I can't believe you finished your registration here just for my pack, Thank You so much! Sorry about the creeper LOL. The tracks were really a challenge since there are so many variations plus the curved track. I'm so happy you noticed the details!

The sky was somewhat accidental. I found two "perfect" sky fabrics, assuming the sky was a dome as it is in a lot of other games. I thought the texture file's layout was odd, but once I loaded the game, I realized why. LOL, a world of squares would of course have a square sky That just screamed to be done Little Big Planet style. It is a weird effect, feeling confined in a little space even though it's infinitely large.
I can't believe you use my work over Sphax!?! I feel so humbled now. thank you!
I am working hard on version 2. I'm adding support for the Harvest Craft and Sweet Tea mods, finished all the mobs in Oceancraft, etc, etc. I'm hoping to pull myself away from my Harvest Craft work long enough to post an update in the next few days.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments everyone! I'm so glad you're enjoying my pack. I'm hard at work on the next update, I didn't realize how insanely (wonderfully) large Harvest Craft is....it's like Farmville for Minecraft lol.
This pack never ceases to amaze me. Honestly, I keep looking at your screenshots of the mobs just admiring the workmanship that went into them. Never mind how much time I've spent just looking at the terrain. I really wish that my main computer (laptop) could run this so I could examine the details up close.
Oh, and btw, you can make the snow golem heads viewable with just MCPatcher. Just make a totally blank 48x32 image with the name "snowman_overlay.png" and put it into /assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/mob/. Anyone who has Random Mobs enabled will see the snow golem's head without a pumpkin.
Keep up the amazing work on this pack, and if you need any help with the GUI design let me know and I'll look over what you have.
So, now I have posted a thread showing my(our) survival map, I can put some screenshots with Fibercraft on it.
I took some views with shaders but it seems to be a conflict between your sky and shaders...
This is amazingly soft and sweet. It gives the feeling you can sink into walls and ground! And I love all these details! I can't name all textures I like, it will be too long(basically take the all assets folder)!
It's really a great pack and very well executed! The all pack is very consistent and gives a very nice vibe. I don't play Minecraft at the moment but when I will return into it, I will definitely try it longer!
Good job Sigyn!
WOW, Cynips you're world is freakin amazing! I can't believe how well my textures work for it too. I'm glad to see that the textures transfer well.
Sorry about the shaders issue, I don't use them myself so I have no idea what would cause the conflict. Seeing your screenshots is making me consider trying them though.....
Thank your for all your comments (this one & the previous ones)! They make me so happy I spend and insane number of hours on this (like all day, every day....seriously....it's a darned addiction...I think I need help LOL) and knowing people notice the little things is the ultimate pay-off.
I understand completely... Maybe we should open a new kind of special psychiatric department dedicated to support texture making addicted people like many of us...
hahaha! Great idea.....Resource Pack Anonymous
I LOVE you map!! Adding the gif showing the build process was such a great idea. It was amazing to see all the work, bit by bit. Knowing you did it the "hard way" by actually mining it makes it even more impressive! I have no talent for building like that. The best I can do is look at architectural blueprints and convert them to Minecraft (via an Excel spreadsheet). I'm just in awe of those buildings....that whole map.....*drool*

THANK YOU! I added that to version 2.0
Keep up the amazing work on this pack, and if you need any help with the GUI design let me know and I'll look over what you have.
Yes please! How do you want to do that? Should I take screenshots? Thank you so much for offering. All I've really done is overlay the boxes and change icons here & there. Nothing fancy like Chroma Hills. Let me know what you need & I'll provide it!
Well, I like this quite a lot. It actually does look embroidered and knitted, and the detail is astonishing.
I especially love the sky. Skyboxes are the bane of my existence, and this is a really cute and clever way of working with them.
Thank you! The detail is why this is a 128x pack. Any smaller and none of the thread detail would come through.
The sky box was something of an accident. I had these really cute fabrics picked out for the sky but when i tried them I realized mine craft uses an actual box for the sky, not a dome. After several attempts with the fabrics, I decided just to see it as another block in the game Of course it helped that I played Little Big Planet years ago and remembered how clever their sky was
