Wow! I love the video! I'm actually really impressed with how it looks, even though I've been using my pack- that town is lovely and such a great showcase...thank you! This is going in the first post right now. ♥
Thanks! Still got some tweaking for the Guis to make the font readable but I won't really be altering them too much to do so. :3
So minor "update", and some good news bad news.
Good news is that you guys are awesome! Thanks for the support!
Bad news however is the fact that I'm going to have to postpone the release and push the date back quite a bit. See, I've had plans since the beginning of the year which are coming up, and I have just barely over 2 weeks left and still quite a lot to get done before then, some of which is taking it's time due to reasons entirely out of my hands.
I do NOT want to rush job and halfa** this pack, so instead of trying to force myself to just get textures done, thus stressing myself out and not doing a very good job...I'm just going to have to admit defeat and accept that Just can't get it out this month. I tried! But what can I do besides take it easy? I would hate to let everyone down, myself included obviously, by just getting this out for download at the cost of quality.
So I'm going to work on it a bit as I can over the next couple weeks, but I'll be able to really get going again after the 18th or so, when I can dedicate time to textures without worrying about what I HAVE to get finished.
Hopefully, everyone waiting on me can understand. :3
Ever since late August when I last posted, it's just been one thing after another and I haven't much time that I wasn't traveling or busy working on things that involve money (business and commission stuff), so I hope you can all understand why I haven't just jumped right back into texturing. None of it's a bad sort of busy, it's all rather good as far as my real life is concerned, but it limits the time I can spend on things like this.
I've also decided that instead of giving up and handing this over to the community, I'd rather still be the one to work on it. I think part of my vision and my personal taste is what's been making this pack so nice, and if someone else took over I can honestly say it wouldn't be the same. So no...it's just going to be on hiatus and kept under wraps till I can find the time to catch up with all the advances Minecraft has been making.
Sorry guys! At least I didn't have bad news though, right? ^^;

I umm... long time no see. *sheepishly pokes head back in*
Sorry I let this go and die... I never REALLY stopped, though I'll admit, life took some heavy turns. Such as moving, jobs, and a slew of things that would only cause headaches if I even attempted to explain.
I'm NOT making promises on a time frame, since I never know what MIGHT happen (I'm sure you guys understand, especially after my last attempt *points to past hopeful release date being years ago*) but I DO still plan on releasing this at some point. I got back into texturing recently and binged, and got a lot done... but well, Minecraft has also updated a lot since my last updates to this thread. So I still have a long way to go, but I thought I would share the news that all though it's been ages, I am still working on my pack. :3
Hope you guys don't hate me for being so...dead..around here. Or for not having it done and out for download yet. ^^;;
Just a teaser, to prove my words~
PS: I'm probably going to put the download on DeviantArt when I'm finally ready, so the image links to the pic on my DA. :3
Edit: I would like to personally thank the Minecraft Forums team for never deleting, locking, or trashing my thread. I wouldn't have blamed you if you had, so thank you! You guys rock! ♥
(also, if I should have started a new thread, I apologize; why lose the content and history of this one, though?)

If a staff member were to ever lock your thread due to inactivity, you can just ask that it be reopened. Send a PM to any of the moderators in this section (including myself) and ask that it be re-opened. When we lock threads we do so to prevent people from spamming and/or requesting updates from an author who's not around to read them. The goal is never to cause you to lose content or post history for your creation.
Aaaah, that all makes sense. Actually, since it never got closed I do have a different question.. Does a pack thread have to have a download link to be in the WIP section? My thread had originally been in that sub-section, but got moved here after I went inactive.. not sure if it was because of the inactivity or fact that my pack is still currently unavailable. If the latter is the case then I'll just make sure to ask for a move to the appropriate section when I do provide one. :3
Anyway, little update to the thread here as well as a reply. I've updated the first post with new pictures and slimmed out the insanely old information.
Pack updates include...not breaking it. Spent the better part of the day making some subtle alternates and implementing them. I suppose beds and flowers/plants are hard coded as I ran into issues getting alternates to work at all (via blockstate/model alterations). I suppose that's all right, I can leave the alternate colors and styles in pack sub folders later on for anyone who wants to pick between what I have.
Here's another teaser... a good portion of my paintings. I...have a lot of asian art ones, I know. I'm trying to change that slowly (guess once this pack is done I'll need an asian remix of my own pack, yes?). As you can see, I don't really like the huge pictures, so many of them are smaller than the block size; this includes a few collages which will set multiple framed works in the space that one used to be.
Most of these are digital paintings, including the remake of the 2x length picture of mountains and the center bottom image. The asian ones including the cranes were all drawn thanks to the help of my wacom. The bottom right and clouds collage both feature some of my own photography.
Please forgive me, I forgot exactly what I wrote on the Japanese text paintings; the long one I believe, if I'm reading it right, says beautiful dream world, and the text on the set of three says Dream Craft in katakana. :3

The whole point of the WIP Packs section is to show of a pack as it's being made without the need for a download link. I've moved your thread there since that is indeed where it belongs. Thank you for pointing that out.

The paintings are beautiful! I'm not sure what to say about them other than I find them to be gorgeous. I wish that I could do digital painting like that.
And no, the plants, flowers, and beds are not hard-coded. They're models like everything else. Chances are if you're getting checkerboard, you're not doing something correctly. I see you've already made a post in the tutorial thread, but you should also include your textures and models so that people can see what you've done and, more importantly, what you've done wrong. Best practice would be to post a version of your pack with only the files relevant to what you're trying to do. (Use placeholders if you don't want to release your real textures, but DO use your real models since that's relevant)
I haven't been this excited for a WIP pack for quite a while. Thank you.

1. Oooh, awesome! Thanks so much for the move! :3
2. Hehe it helps to have a drawing tablet. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be able to draw a thing digitally. I'd be restricted to blur shading only on scanned drawings (which I'm not as good at)... your packs and art are super cute though! pixel art isn't something I'm all too good at, so yeah. ^_~
3. Mmm, I've already posted the code I'm working with up in the appropriate thread. I'm sure the answer is going to be something so simple it's silly.
4. I think you just made me blush slightly... I LOVE my pack, sure, but it's my pack..you know? In the past and now, seeing people love it so much just blows me away. Especially since I continue to worry that the combination of realism and drawn/painted works will be seen by some as a clashing eyesore. lol
Anyway, what's a reply from me without some kind of update or screenshots? I give you...the mobs I've done as of yet! (if I knew how to title spoilers, I would, lol, the forums have changed since back in the day and I haven't looked it up yet)

I made the Siamese a grey long fur for reasons... also thinking of changing the orange one to a short fur calico.
If I can add extra textures, I'll have a TON of cat colors... I don't love cats..not at all. lol

I had to stop and ask myself... am I happy with my cat texture? The simple answer was no, no I'm not. I just spent most of the day (about..oh, 6 hours straight?) redrawing one of them. This in turn helped me save my old orange tabby and black cats by simply replacing the eyes on them. MUCH happier with the results. ♥
Along with this, since my last update, I added a few extra flower styles. Also did a minor update to some of my glass (got one I'm going to redo; I'll probably show them off next time).

It's been over a week since I've just shoved up a teaser, though those of you watching the thread have probably seen my update progress.
I'm going to just leave this here. I had some fun tonight with alternate bookshelves. :3
I have to admit, I would love to see some awesome screenshots and get some real feedback on the pack so far; if anyone may be so inclined to do so, feel free to reply and let me know. :3

I've put together a little example of my most recent texture (my porkchop), for those who may be curious how I draw my textures.
Typically I work off of a 600x image, with a LOT of layers, a few effects (mostly just blur to soften some edges) and more layers. Most of my textures start off with linework, base color, and take anywhere from an hour to three just to layer till I'm happy with the depth, color, detail etc; then it gets shrunk down to 64x and cleaned up for the pack.
My porkchop here is NO exception of how I work; you can see some of the spots and strokes in the full size clip at the bottom, while the finished texture is at top. This one, raw and cooked, took about 2 hours each, even though I "cooked" the previously finished raw chop.
I have to say, as of late, I'm more and more happy with how my textures are coming out. I have plans to remake some older ones very soon, but this isn't going to really effect when I release the pack. *grins* Just a bit more patience, guys!
Can't say it enough: if anyone has a suggestion or feedback, please let me know. This may be my dreamy little brain child but I will always accept feedback, ideas, constructive criticism, etc. :3

It's been almost a month since I shared a random update screenshot, even though I have been updating. Most updates are listed in the first post; since this time last month there have been quite a few updates, so feel free to check that out. A few screenshots are under the spoiler buttons as well. :3
For now... I'm going to just brag about getting my potted flowers working how I wanted to. Took some doing, since I have multiple flower pot styles and multiple flowers I wanted to show up correctly. I know, this has likely been done, but I'm proud of myself for getting it to work all the same.
That was a really cool video.

How can you use this? There isn't a download.
I think he meant when it's released... ^^
