Okay, unchecking custom textures and models returned the 1.8 stones visibility, but crashed me every time a particle tried to render. Soooo, camouflaged granite and such it is until a new version of MCPatcher it is.
Not to be rude or anything but why did you change the way iron looked?
I also changed coal, gold, and lapis In short, I originally made the textures for my own use and tastes. Since it wasn't being updated, I decided to share what I had done. Now I know, some people won't like everything I've done, and that's fine. I'm not going to make 15 different packs to suit 15 different people. It's a simple matter of opening the pack and deleting the offending textures...and then they'll go back to either default or Misa. I won't take offense ( delete coal_ore.png, gold_ore.png, iron_ore.png, and lapis_ore.png)
Have fun,
Les
another thing you can do (which is simpler) is to downgrade the priority of Les' patch. (put it on the bottom of the resource pack list so it only fills what Misa / Pscof42 didn't have).
I like the few changes Les put in, not really 'game changers' as far as changing the feel of the texture pack, but a nice touch

I thought of that too, but you will lose the changes I had to make to the enchanting table and the Steve model (to match the new format). On retrospect, I think I will post my patches omitting the ore textures. I have a separate patch I use for personalized textures and music already so I'll just keep them to myself I realize it's kind of a slap in the face for Misa users to change her textures...and I fully get that. If you like the ores, then get them while you can and just copy to any future updates. (I actually kind of forgot about them since those were some of my first explorations into texture editing)
As a side note, I've asked Misa and Pscof42 for permission to use their texture packs so I can make a single texture pack for everyone...that way you wouldn't have to worry about separate downloads and what order to put things in. The bad side (always a bad side) is that 1) Pscof42 hasn't posted since March and 2) it wouldn't include Misa's connected textures and alternate mob textures. So I may just be wasting my time.
Anyway, I'm always open to suggestions or if anyone wants to help with missing textures...or making connected textures or animations
Have fun,
Les
Ok guys. I've made a few changes again. The main thing is you no longer need pscof42's texture patch for this to work. He hasn't been on since March so I couldn't get permission to combine his work with mine...so I made my own. I've also asked Misa for permission, but still no word, so you'll still have to install her texture pack first. I revised several textures but you probably won't notice the changes. I've also omitted my version of ores so I don't overwrite her work. The biggest change is I made my version of colored glass so now they are actually stained glass. (see below) I never used the default colors but now I think they look great (imho and I'm actually using them now.
Hope you like the work so far. Things are mostly done but I still have a few changes I want to make. Namely the elder guardian and all the rabbits. If you like what I've done, please let me know. It's really my only motivation for working on it and posting it Oh and yes, feedback is welcome (if it's minor, just pm me so we don't clutter the board.
Loving the stained glass. Going to fit in to my latest build perfectly, and there will finally be a use for brown glass. Though personally I would have gone for an Enderman motif over a pirate for the black, but, that's a minor detail in comparision to how good the rest of it looks,

Heheh..yeah, I'm kinda stuck on the pirate stuff. I hadn't even thought of an enderman (hmmm..gears turning)
Thanks for the feedback!

Dude pirate stuff is awesome! I LOVE that piece!
Here's a thought.....Make 2 patches (or +)
1. Misa Faithful: a patch that specifically carries on Misa's pack, not overwriting anything (did you omit the paintings as well? haven't checked but LOVE them)
2. Les' Misa Patch: a patch with what you want to use (or what you do use personally) i.e. ores, paintings, etc. added in
3. Les' Pirate Themed Misa Patch: self explanatory but awesome.
Now I'm just throwing this out there....does anyone see a problem with that? I mean if he's giving Misa proper credit for the textures he uses....
I'm just not sure if that is a 'kosher' option....I'm not up to snuff on my texture pack ethics lol...
Regardless of that way to go Les! I thank you as always for your work, you don't have to but you do anyway and you deserve props for it!

Hey Magpie Tear, I made a quick concept piece for the black stained glass but I think I'll keep the pirate motif for now. But, you can have it if you want it. It's only the enderman piece so just load it above my main patch. K. back to work. Download here: Enderman Glass.zip
(oh, as always, full credit to Misa for the enderman texture/artwork Misa's Realistic Texture Pack.
Schtorsch: Deleting assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/ctm/high_res/block1.properties solved this problem for me. It will, of course, turn off CTM for the stone textures.
Once again and still the problem: The new blocks are clear stone ingame! New: The problem is not your texture-patch - it´s Misas Texturepack for me!
All of my tests have the same result - it doesn´t work if Misas pack is activated. All the other packs/patches are working fine. Whats the problem? Only a few people have this problem - why? What can I do?
Hey Schtorsch, Thanks for experimenting and giving me some examples. Based on that, I was able to figure it out. It's a combination of how MCPatcher and Minecraft see the new stone blocks. They treat them as different "block states" of the basic stone texture, so it converts them to basic stone using Misa's connected texture files. I know, blah blah blah Anyway, I fixed it for now. I'll have to learn MCPatcher now that it's nearing completion.
Be sure to get the latest version of MCPatcher here: MCPatcher Preview
I'm uploading the patch now
Have fun,
Les
oh btw ..there was always a bug in misa s texture, i mean a missing texture at the melon sproutling when it grows,it s missing the texture [pumpkin or melon i forgot exactly which one]
Thanks HailtheHail. I had forgotten about that melon stem. I had copied the pumpkin stem and just renamed it in Misa's original pack so it was off my radar. So, I made a quick stem and included it in the last patch
If anyone sees anything I've missed or need to tweak, just let me know.
Have fun,
Les
Uh. hi les, im Darckray, your texture pack is looking very good so far, but i've noticed something, the Guardian's new texture breaks the Eye features they have, now they dont even look at you. their beams come out from their mouths... i dont really like them being piranah-like creatures... but everything else is perfect!, keep up the good work!

Hey Darckray, glad you like most of my patch. The cool thing about modding is you can change whatever you like. Just delete the guardian_elder and guardian textures and they'll go back to the default, or better yet, find one you like better and copy theirs over mine. (Sphax PureBDcraft has a 64x version that is really close to the default). I wanted mine to be a little more sinister looking and added a mouth/teeth and then decided to make that the "eye" texture. Now the "tongue" tracks and beams ya. I knew some people wouldn't like it, but that's all I've got right now.
Have fun,
