Sorry!
A friend alerted me that my link had decayed again!
It seems that I can't post a full URL link so I've created a hyperlink instead. This means that the download button for Steamy actually works now!
As a quick update, I've been busy busy busy as usual and have done nothing fantastic on Steamy. I've repaired most of the issues with the textures people have pointed out and have started planning for the new upcoming textures (granite, bouncy block etc). The next version will be released when the new minecraft version comes out.
Thanks for staying interested
Yayy!! More Steampunkiness! Thanks Squid, I'm giving this pack a long, lengthy and enjoyable try.
Also, kudos on that nether lore up there, it's truly a good read, even had to grab my second monocle I couldn't believe my eyes. It sounds like it would fit an animation or machinima or something eh? Good one man.

Thank you very much
As you're aware there are other brilliant Steampunk packs out there but the world of Steampunk 16x is a new and dangerous place!
I'm glad to hear you liked my story I do a fair bit a writing in my spare time so it's nice to be able to put that hobby to use as well. I suppose one day I might be able to animate it. I did try to learn Blender for a bit but gave up in frustration
Thanks again for checking this out!
Me too, they're also my favorite thing about the pack.
Thanks for the compliments
I guess that it's no coincidence that I find the GUI's the hardest to do
I think though that they're also the most rewarding, as I have the ability to use a far far larger number of pixels to create something more interesting than my usual 256. I especially like my furnace GUI and was very proud when I created the flowing molten metal bit on the side
I've still got a lot of GUI's to do though and I should redo some of the earlier ones which had minimal effort put into them. Maybe in the next update.
Thanks again for supporting me
Just spotted your excellent intro vid, Squid! I recognize that awesome music too...perfect for that tour of airships and splendid buildings.
I just popped in to say I'm updating my OP again and in a few minutes will have updated the link in my 'downloads' section to point to your thread here. Hope that's ok. Just say if you'd rather I pointed to your main thread, but having seen your intro and the new Steamy heading, it will look cool for any visitors finding their way here from my link.
Don't work too hard and hope the studies are going well.

Glad you like the video, I enjoyed making it and especially loved that slow tilt shot inside
Music was from Rise of Legends, which I get all my music for this pack from (so far...) as it was the inspiration.
And again, I'm honoured that you're putting a link to my pack rather than upset It's a good idea to link here rather than my other older thread as that might be a bit confusing for people clicking the link. Thanks again!
I've been having a holiday from work for ages now (just about to start Uni ) but studies are just around the corner once again...
Thanks for your continued support Glimmar, and make sure you take your own advice... don't work too hard!
Love the resource pack, looks very steampunk, but now I want a map link too.
Haha thanks! I hope it does look Steampunk seeing as that's the whole point
About the map... the picture I show are from three maps; my texture testing world where I build small structure, my single-player survival world and a server I'm helping to build.
So I guess if you're looking for a map download the closest you'll get (right now) is when that server gets up and running!
Here's the server website if you're interested.
New version of Steamy updated for your enjoyment!
It fixes the problems that have been brought to my attention so far and also adds the Ghast with sounds!
Enjoy!

Ooo! I look forward to seeing...and hearing...that ghast! Trouble is I'm away from my main machine and won't be back until the weekend.
By the way what were the problems?
I'm sure you can wait
Just some small problems, akin to 'balancing', I fixed the contrast between grass and tallgrass, the colours of wool and fixed some missing textures like the trapped chest.

Tall grass and grass...that is a fine balancing act indeed! I'm currently going through this torturous task all over again (or will be again this weekend) in my attempt to upgrade it to 64x. There's nothing more scene breaking than having tall grass look like it's just been plonked onto the grass, rather than looking like it's the same and properly growing up from below.
Haha! Keep up the good work, Squid and enjoy your free time while you can...before essay madness sets in again at uni!
Nice to see the pack coming along! It looks great and I quite like your specific theme of steampunk. And as for the slime block, some kind of steam valve or a fan.
I like the pack! just, acacia and dark oak planks don't seem to follow the theme of the rest of the woods. shame, my airship is made entirely of dark oak and acacia
This looks great, nice work on this. I think you definitely captured the essence of that steampunk feel.
Thanks very much
It can be a bit difficult to create cohesive and understandable textures at this scale and it becomes very tricky when gears and pipes are involved It's nice to hear I got it right for at least one person

Thanks as well
It's nice to hear you like the same 'flavour' of Steampunk as me as well
Thanks for the input on the slime block, a fan might make sense, because the bouncing is your being propelled away... That's actually a good idea, and would be far more useful than the bouncy-bellows I was working on... I'll have to try that out - thanks!

Heh heh, sorry about that! When I'm creating wood textures I try to work out what'll be most useful rather than what'll be most similar to Minecraft's or anyone else's textures. This of course results in textures that are incompatible with other packs, so I try to keep doing that to a minimum. The two most changed textures are the woods and the quartz blocks.
Maybe you could build a new airship
Thanks for the interest as well

Sorry about not replying earlier, I've been "oot and aboot" starting the new year. Thanks again Glimmar for your interest! I think I've got the grass sorted, but I also have a feeling I'll be working on it again very soon... It must be tough upsizing your pack one texture at a time, but I guess the results speak for themselves and are enough encouragement to keep going!
In regards to uni, I've just started my first semester this year so... here we go!
As a general note, I'm rather excited (read: scared) about the upcoming ability to change the models of blocks and models. I'm hoping to change the model for the torch (to match the texture) and the lever (think a frankenstein-like lever for Igor to pull). If they expand the features of this ability in the future, I hope to also change the armour model for the iron armour to match the texture - a conquistador like cone'd helmet!
I'm not sure how much of this I'll be able to do... but the possibilities are there!
Well here's a progress report!
I've been chipping away at the 1.8 textures, but I don't want to show anything from there yet...
In the meantime I've done some paintings in my little bit of spare time
I really, really wanted to add some of those old hand-arrow things as signs, but it turned out to be a tricky endeavour at the low resolution I've been using. I managed to get a result I've been very happy with and I think that as a painting it'll be very versatile for marking cave passages, or advertising your shop
I've also completed another painting, this one is a logo/billboard. I am going to try to get a match between outdoor art, indoor art, and functional art in my painting set, and this one falls into the category of outdoor art, or functional art. I expect to see IIC factories, workshops and mines popping up all over your minecraft world, as they've done on mine
In further news, a server I've been working on has recently finished their industrial district, so here's a bunch of screenshots of my pack in action! Also note that I took the above screenshots in the same area.
I'm sure you all remember the doom cannon I created a while back, well now it too has been settled in to its new home, and a whole military base has sprung up around it to keep it's fires well stoked!
At the rate I'm going I should be up to speed when 1.8 finally arrives, but still expect a few day's delay as I experiment with the new objects in proper.
Thanks for checking in
That Doom Cannon is awesome...and so are the signs! In fact there's a lot of awesome features and builds on view there, making me want to build again, but I'm stuck doin' millions of bits of ctm instead!
