Hi there SNOW. I just foud this topic today so I'm gonna give it a go.Anything that improves the base game is a plus and i'm sure this sound pack is gonna spice up the game a lot.Thank you for your hrad work.
Replies, replies. I have not yet looked at the 1.7 Snapshot...I wasn't sure that players would be anxious to have my sounds so quickly available to the newer releases. From what I can tell it is simply a change in folder structure (AGAIN). 1.7 allows for the use of multiple Resource Pack usage. Please consider:
Drag the SnowSong>Assets>Minecraft>Music, Records, and Sound folders into the Sphax>Assets>Minecraft folder, or wait for a 1.7 snapshot to come out.
Also, SnowSongWolf...there are many SnowSongs in the internet world. I was surprised after I decided upon the name. My apologies for an undesired additional traffic to your YouTube which may have incurred as a result of the commonality in name.
I will re-evaluate the stare.ogg in Enderman. My intention for several of the FX was to drop them off sharply as if to say....I think I see something...THERE!! Attack!!!! Searching, searching, searching.......THERE! BLAMMO! The two effects overlap terribly loudly. I will look at make an improvement. I will also be boosting the bat FX volume in 1.2 (which will also feature the SFX for th eDrZhark 1.6.x equestrians). 1.2 will take into consideration many tweaks brought up by the forum.
PS: In the upcoming NEW DrZhark Mo' Creatures sounds....if you thought the Wither chilled your guts...wait until you meet your first St. Michael's Werewolf!!!

I was blown away by this resource pack. It's the first one I've used that so drastically changes the Minecraft sounds. I un-installed MAtmos in order to use this pack in its place. I am a huge fan of realism, and you have impressed me beyond all my expectations. I salute you.
My only complaint is the dirt. Whenever I break or place it, I feel like I am handling tin foil as opposed to soil. Doesn't seem to fit at all.
I even made FX specific to dirt and gravel, but, the vanilla code only calls for the gravel FX when moving or placing dirt.
My complaint was rendered invalid. So I apologize.
I love the music that you chose to include in this; I rarely have a reason to turn on music in Minecraft, but you have given me one.
In all, SnowSong is a shining example of what talented people can do with the implementation of resource packs. I love this pack, it has left me in awe; you are amazing. I wub you.
If you have CoFH capes installed, wear my cape everywhere you go!
It kix a$$ and will be sure to impress, make you happy, and spread the word about the lovely SnowSong sound pack that will make everyone's Minecraft experience SO much better!

Wow, you stopped my heart! THANK YOU for such a lovely review of my sound pack.
I am working with DR Zhark of Mo' Creatures directly to re-engineer that MOD as well. If I can get invited to the FTB team of the BaconDonut community team on Twitch.tv, I expect to be added as sound engineer for all mods provided by those packages. However, first and foremost, all of the music "chosen" is actually my own composition and arrangement; and I am thrilled to read that you enjoyed the SnowSong set so much.
Much more is coming soon, assuming I ever finish the 1500 sound FX planned for Mo' Creatures. I mention this because it may also be feasible for me to add the dirt FX to the mods through extra calls for SFX in general...so a MOD is necessary to implement all of the FX variety I actually created FOR the game, and now I may have access to individuals willing to implement them through the use of their mods. I really hope fro this. There is boss music and ending credit music in place for the Wither encounter, and the Enderdragon encounter, but DrZhark assures me that we can improve the methods by which the music is triggered through already-included HOOKS.
I will then be adding Boss Music for all of the Twilight Forest MOD bosses. SO much fun for me!!!

The Twilight Forest... That names resonates within my mind, bringing up memories of awe and horror. Creaking bones and scraping scales, towering trees and burning steam, flying books and the beast of three... However, the limit of my comprehension lies where your work begins - the melodies of glory and the horror of battle shall no doubt soon accompany the sound of my blade meeting flesh, bone, and scale!
I eagerly await the day that your work will accompany these fights of fancy!

1500 sound effects? Did I read that right? Please, for your own sake, don't attempt such a massive undertaking! for a single mod, 20, MAYBE, but 1500? Most modern triple-A games probably don't even have that many sounds. I don't mean to be rude, but it's time better spent making sounds for a completely new game, rather than for an addon to someone else's. And furthermore, neither SnowSong nor the original Mo' Creatures could have 1500 sounds... the filesize would be absolutely massive and quite impractical for distribution.
...all of the music "chosen" is actually my own composition and arrangement...
That only makes it more impressive. I believe I heard a blue grass piece, as well as a classical one. I've also noticed at-least one ambient track. They're all simply beautiful.

Really looking forward to it. For now, I have suggested SnowSong to several friends and have mentioned it a few times in the chat of a server I frequent. I also have every intention of doing a spotlight on it in the coming days.
I normally just creep around the forums, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the pack right now. Looking forward to the sounds I still haven't heard. c:

Finally back, now I've had a chance to experience what this sound pack has to offer.
First off, let me say that I am highly impressed by the quality of work across the board!
The general sound effects for actions such as placing blocks, fight monsters etc are much better than in vanilla minecraft. Of special note, I loved the "click" button effect for menus, pressure plates and buttons, the shattering of glass, and the brilliance of the bow/arrow sfx. Monsters are especially creepy (I am now scared of ghasts all over again) and the ambience effects are terrific!
I did notice however, that there doesn't seem to be a sound effect for collect exp orbs? Could just be something with my version, but I did notice this missing. Also, I found that the item collection sfx was a little too quiet for my taste. Still an improvement over vanilla though!
Lastly, although I enjoyed the original compositions for background music, I found some of them to simply be too.... "Happy" for Minecraft. A few times when I was down in the dark, exploring and fighting monsters, the music would start with a rolling, joyous piano melody... which just felt out of place. This might not have been helped by the fact that the music seems to be longer than in vanilla minecraft. A game like this needs periods of silence, then music that comes in softly so that you barely notice it, but love it when it's there, and then don't notice it's gone until five minutes after it's finished. Again, this is my personal taste.
I will reinforce the fact though, that all sounds and music in this pack are still above and beyond what is in vanilla minecraft. While I would love to see some tweaks/additions/variations to this pack, I doubt I'll be turning it off an time soon.
TL;DR
This pack is amazing, download it now - you won't regret it.
Very very awesome sound pack! I do have some suggestions though.
Minecraft's 3d sound doesn't work with stereo sound files, you should convert all mob sounds into mono (except the Enderdragon and wither death sounds)
The xp orb, explosion and thunder sound files should also be louder.
Also the problem with the wither boss music is that you have to stay in one place to hear it, moving elsewhere will make the music fade away since the wither spawn sound doesn't play globally.
Overall, good job!
EDIT: Also the villagers sound feminine, that may cause problems with texture packs with masculine villagers
EDIT 2: The wolf barking sound also sounds too hostile especially since most texture packs portray them as friendly
"You're going to go with steel?" "As opposed to... tapioca?" - Weaponmasters, katana episode
It's not publically distributed, and is only used by a few friends and I so don't worry.
Regardless, you'll still receive credit within the pack.
I hope that's ok
Also at the end of your stare.ogg for endermen, the sound drops quite dramatically for no reason. It doesn't sound right

Go for it!
BaconDonut is also going to be using the Sound Pack in his forthcoming personal ModPack....
And if all goes well, SnowSong will be a part of FTB's new launcher. Push for my acceptance! WOOT!
