Don't take this wrong, take your time and make the textures you feel like you can work on, but I can't wait to see what the redstone lamps will look like. Perhaps one of those fluorescent light panels.

I admit, I'm not very creative.
I was wondering what I'll crack into tonight, might as well give it a go had a couple of ideas bit more detail than a straight lit panel but hey who knows!
Any feedback on the gold block, keep it something like that or work some more detail into it?
Will send new PNG file over when i'm back later on.
I've downloaded your pack, not had time to have a play yet though!

Well, that image was the best example I could find, I wouldn't find that solid colours would look that great either, that picture just has some glare from the lights.
Also, when you do get the chance to use mine, I hope you enjoy it, I'm constantly updating so, give some feedback if you'd like!
Cheers for posting up, doh ignore that weird Obsidian block! I forgot that was still in there was mucking about, you can get rid of that screen shot or just change the floor ha
Can try the Sandstone like that sure thing
How do you find the general look on just a basic seed as a world to explore? maybe post some complete world pics.
Thanks, I've fixed that screenshot, the floor is slabs now.
And I've got one screenshot of the landscape. (just one for now). Oh, it won't look as good as your screenshots, I should point out. I find the shaders mod complex to install (unless I'm making it harder than it needs to be), and it lags my computer anyway, so it is just vanilla minecraft shading.

Hmm yeah not quite as bright and bouncy without the shaders, i should look at a adjusted lightmap for that. Also you don't have my new sun.png and i want to look at reworking the grass and edges, to make them blend better.
Love that lamp! The glass looks good not being completely clean, and more realistic. I think it will look better with a more metal-like frame, the bolts should be a nice touch.
Also, here's two more screenshots, with the crafting bench, and the furnace, and a cave screenshot with the better obsidian. (Oh, might I say your lava is great!)
I was just playing my survival mode level with this, venturing in a cavern, and I find that the ores are noticeable enough and rewarding to find. (I found coal, iron, gold and redstone, but of course, no diamond. )
Ok i've moved onto the pumpkin so this is the basic work penciled in, with the face quickly free handed with the pen tool but i think the shading will be tomorrow now, too many late nights!
Okay I tested your preview a little and it looks consistent by all means so far.
Like you assumed, it is a lot darker without shaders. You really can tell that it is designed for and with Sonic Ether´s shaders on, so maybe consider to make a lighter version for the majority of people who can´t use them, after you finish your pack. I mean, this is actually advisable for all packs, because most of them look way too bright with shaders on and just not as planned. For your pack it´s now the other way around.
The tall grass really is too bright and you can reduce the brightness by 75 to fix that, but then it still sticks out too much because of it´s design so I would just add the same transition as you already did with the sidegrass. Here I tried it already, just to assure that I am right:
By the way, your glowstone lamp looks great but I don´t like the colour of the gold block. Doesn´t look like gold at all - at least to me. And nice pumpkin face! ;D
Good to hear you got a chance to have a play of the pack, consistency is vital so thats feed back i was looking for. You've got to have close look at my textures now on pixel level. I'm rather chuffed with the lamp, the light in lighthouses was my inspiration and it worked out well. Gold block bit too yellow? how about the shape? tried something different, might add some small bolts, dimples as gold is a soft metal.
Noted on the pack working without shaders, can get that sorted later down the line.
I think tall grass needs a redo, less solid and as you said more colour tweaking on the grayscale to blend better.
By all means tweak the colour on the gold and i'll have a look.
I've been toying with the idea of 3d modeling all the items, unless i can find someone who can nail the style and get involved. I can whip those us fairly rapid in 3DSMAX
I´m not entirely sure if the gold block is too yellow. That´s what I thought first and then it would help to put more orange into it but now I think it´s just too saturated. The specularity seems odd too. Anyhow, the shape is great, so I won´t change that.
And I like the tall grass in general, just as I said, it´s too dark. Oh and I also noticed that the top of it should be rather bright than dark, compared to the rest. If you meant with less solid, that you want to make it semitransparent, then I think you could achieve that with the use of a CTM properties file and renderpass=3.
Will have a play with the gold block, see what i can do to it.
As for the grass when i meant less solid i was thinking more strands of grass not a solid clump, break it up a little so it sits better, i do like how it looks in game (once brightness is sorted) so will see what i can do with the existing texture first.
Been reading up on CTM's you can just keep going and going with those things!

Like the house pic Brings me onto the windows actually. Was thinking i will add a lattice frame to them pull them away from being to modern looking?
I'd like to see a lettuce lattice glass texture. It is unique, and nothing below 128x128 can really do that justice without taking up the entire texture, so I'd like to see what you could come up with!

Wow. I normally only use spelling suggestions in the case of hitting the wrong key, but I must have clicked the first suggestion assuming it was lattice, I must have gotten a few wrong keys. I meant to say lattice.
I would like to see a lattice glass texture though.
(That's a pretty nice texture whipped up in that time!)
so you´re basically wrong, because it worked, though you can´t see much through it. But I think this problem stays no matter of the resolution - maybe it´s slightly better in 128x128, but really not that much.
With 128x128, the lattice texture (normally diagonal, rather than horizontal and vertical, which is where 128 would prove to be better with) can be smoother and thinner so you can see through it better. You probably could make a lattice texture with 32x32, but to have it diagonal would take up too much of the glass that you couldn't see through it well.
Edit: oops, I meant to edit the last post... Sorry for the double post.
Had a big rethink on the pumpkin, it looked too scary for the pack style and it needed to be more big and bouncy in its look. This has been an pain to get to something i'm kinda happy with, way to much time spent on it.
Looking forward to doing something different now, will do the Jack'o'lantern another time.
Looks really nice so far, but for some reason the grass bothers me.
Hi and thanks, bothers you in which way? Theres been bit of talk over the pages about tweaking or changing the grass, it does look nice when its all blowing about in the wind with Sonic Ether shaders working their magic and fits the look of the pack.
Yeah the gold block looks much better with the texturing.

Hey thanks, that was where i really wanted to be with it not too cartoony and not too photo real

Metal work is just penciled in, focused mainly on the lamp glass. Will prob be a dark ish iron metal with some bolts.
Thoughts guys?

Sweet textural demonstration of the Moo kind on G,s little slip up' hehe.
No texture work tonight to show was all ready to get to it until her in doors said we are going out, grr.

I will look at some alternatives at some point.
