This is amazing! I can't say I have many criticisms, if any at all. It's bright and cheery and wonderfully detailed. It evokes the feeling of the Minecraft default textures but it is very much yours, stylistically speaking.
The soil is gorgeous, but I have to say it feels more like a stone or rocky cliffside texture since the crumbles (is that even a word lol) are so large. You did a wonderful job of shading. The crumbs of the soil really pop.
You've got a nice touch of cartoonishness going. And, am I crazy for saying this? but does anyone else feel like the planks feel a bit on the realistic side? I mean, they're a treat to look at, really beautiful (*picks up jaw from the floor*), but in comparison to much else, it doesn't feel cartoony enough and it even feels a bit out of place.
Well, just my two cents, feel free to disregard everything I say! Just keep up the really great work. I'm gushing again haha.

Haha, it was interesting reading this because both your points have come across my mind before. I remember even trying to replace the smooth stone texture with a greyscale version of the dirt just to see how it looked. Not sure why I felt that the... crumbs had to be so big. I think I just did it because other texture packs made the dirt under the sidegrass look more substantial than the normal soil. Like it was reinforced or compact or something. It looked good for others so I just followed their example. At the moment I'm happy enough with it and probably wont consider doing anymore work on it before all the other major textures.
As for the wooden planks. I get what you mean. I think however that I would rather bring the other textures up to the planks quality if I can rather than altering the planks to better fit the rest. I'm basically going for realistic, but vibrant with this pack. By the sound of it, those planks have already made it to that standard I want.
Anyways, 1.4.2 compatible version is now up. It has a new log texture and some other random unrefined stuff plus some little tweaks. Very small update, it's all in the changelog. I just needed to get it out there for the minecraft update.
Playing with this for about 2 weeks and its GREAT.
HOLY
CRAP.
One thing is the blue stone. It doesnt strike me as "Stone". The other thing i dont like is the gravel. It looks a bit like glostone to me. Other than that its great.
Keep it up!
(also, would it be too much to ask for animated grass and leaves to make them look like there swaying in the wind?)
Hm yeah, pretty nice pack a bit cartoony but not so much as to wreck the whole feel of minecraft in the way that other packs can. I especially like the wood textures and the stone is daring (being blue) but somehow it looks to work.
I will give this a try for sure but I think that you should make the water very varied in terms of the biome gradients. Jungle should be tropical (like jolicraft) and forest should be greenish water.
Awsome work i look forward to it being finished it will look great with sonic ethers unbelievable shaders on my new pc.Hm yeah, pretty nice pack a bit cartoony but not so much as to wreck the whole feel of minecraft in the way that other packs can. This is my favorite texture pack for Minecraft, I like the art style. Hope you continue this good work! I have made a modification of “A Brush More Colour” which is compatible with Minecraft 1.4.7 (now the magic books are shown) and resized and recolored some textures to fit better to the default style and added a lot of things. I hope you like it.
Changelog:
• now 1.4.7 compatible
• fixed TNT texture bug
• added menu background
• added iron door texture
• added texture for myzel
• added transparent glass
• added magic table texture
• added flowing water animation
• added note for HD texture patch if not installed
• added Minecraft HD Logo
• added Mojang HD Logo
• added credits with download links and install instruction
• mushrooms resized and recolored
• recolored textures (original colors as template):
• stone
• ore
• obsidian
• stone plate
• red flower
• snow
• birch wood boards
This texture pack is beautifull I love the blue stone and agree with what you were saying about having underground cool colours but seriously the old cobble was so much better that's what brought me to this texture pack in the first place I also think that you should add some more autum colourd leaves to the oak trees.
Thank you, BigPixel, for maintaining this. I love this Texture/Resource Pack (in fact, it is probably my favorite). The thing I like most about what you do is that you keep the old version, the one with the beautiful cobblestone. Thanks for that :D. Also, I hope Grog returns soon to continue making this Pack and finish stuff up.
As above, thank you for maintaining this, BIgPixel
Say, if the OP is inactive, does that not give you the right to make your own forum post as a Continuation Project?
Also, many of us users are still in 1.5.2, for one reason or another (me because most mods haven't updated yet), so do you think you could still have a download page for 1.5.2?
I love this texture pack so much. The only thing I would change is put the 'original' cobbles and ferns on the 'alternative' pack and use that. Of course, then you need to do something about the halfslabs. Shouldn't be too hard, though. I really like the old versions wood and half slabs more, but the new cobble is beautiful. x.x I dunno. I'll play with both.
Thank you for all your hard work on getting it updated.
