Came across this when I was going through some old work to add to a portfolio. Thought I might try to finish this up since I've got free time at the moment. So made a ton of changes since last version. Soften textures up, not so harsh anymore and removed the blue stone, sorry to those that liked it. Overall tried to make things work together better. I'm also gonna do weekly small updates from now on. So next release will be at the end of this week coming and so on. Tell me what you think.
How on Earth have I missed this pack? It's amazing! O_o
This my good friend is an excellent texture pack and I'm sorry that I have never had the pleasure of using it until now. Great job and I wish you all the luck with it.
EDIT: I'm lovin the blue of the stone and the cobble stone but the stone bricks look out of place being gray. Could you maybe add an alternate blue stone brick to the pack as I think it would match better. Thank you.

Sounds like you're using the old version. Current version no longer has the blue stone and cobble stone. I felt that those colours clashed too much against other common building materials like wood and also prevented you from making 'warm' 'cozy' homes if you relied on cobble as an important building material. Go back to the original post and try the current version. Much has changed since the blue stone and blue cobble version.

Oh well. The blue is what I liked about your textures. It gave it a fantasy type feel.

Yea it was actually a really tough decision for me as to whether to keep it or not. I was quite fond of the blue stone. I might consider making some sort of alternative option for it later on down the line but I'm not too sure if I want to split the texture pack in two like that. I'll think on it.

You wouldn't have to separate the pack into two. If you have any extra textures you're not using in the current pack you can just make an alts folder and include it in the current pack so we can just switch out textures as we like.
EDIT: This is the direction I thought you pack was going in. These are textures I borrowed from Wolfhound Fantasy and Derivation for my own private mix pack. The white drippy looking blocks are birch planks the white and blue trees are birch trees. The other white blocks are all the stone brick variants. Whats' your thought?

Hey cool! I love how you got the leaves working working with that mod that makes tree leaves more bushy. Can't remember what its called. But anyway, alright yea that sounds like a good idea. I'll start maintaining an alts folder from this weeks release onwards.
What do you think about the fantasy idea for the pack?
I'm now pondering if I do actually want to split the pack. A normal version and and fantasy version. I'm going to keep going down the path I've got at the moment, put some of these older textures into an alt folder and then maybe further down the line I'll split the pack in two.
One thing I don't like, and not just in your resource pack, but in any - but, it's when the cobblestone texture is made to look like bricks.
In my opinion, such a crude block shouldn't look so uniform and clean.
That aside, rest looks great.
Yea interesting point. I guess it just became the sort of standard amongst texture packs because it's such an easy to get resource and as a building material, bricks are a more versatile block then cobblestones. Bricks work in most situations and structures whilst cobble is a bit more limited in where it works. Whilst there are other blocks that fill the roll of bricks the extra steps of having to cook cobble or clay to get them is a lot of effort for something so commonly used and often in great numbers.
I might have a play and see if I can come up with something I like. The old cobblestone texture I had was actually closer to a cobblestone look then the current one, albeit was blue.
I'll try changing the colour and to fit the current pack and at the very least leave it in as an alternative texture for those interested.
Thought I might show a work-in-progress of the new animated water texture to be. This stage was all about nailing the motion of animation down so it's only an uber basic texture at the moment with a solid colour background and solid lines. Once I've finished tweaking this I'll move onto making the texture look prettier. I'm quite happy with how this is turning out though considering how much I was dreading animating water. So huzzah for that.
This one texture is taking up a lot of the time I allocate to this project so this week's update will probably just feature some incomplete form of this water texture and a replacement grass texture that I'm also working on.
So finishes another week. This update really just features a new grass texture and a work in progress animated water texture. The water is not a quick one to do unfortunately. There's a couple of other meh tweaks listed in the changelog.
Quote from Spec_oupsjumpSo right after testing your pack, I said to myself that this is one of the best I've ever had in my game. I find it really good, colorful, bright, yet eye-friendly and perfectly fitting minecraft. I do believe there's some inspiration you got from Soartex, but your pack seems definitely better in my opinion.
I'm playing with it since yesterday, got pleased, built things with it. Waiting for more of this pack, it's really looking great for the moment and the only downside I found other than the obvious lack of texture of a WiP pack was diorite, andesite and granite almost looking the same, it would be nice to bring more differences between these textures !
Thank you very much. I tried going for a kinda warm, fun vibe as that's the feeling I associated with minecraft, so its great to see people liking that direction.
The diorite, andesite and granite I have mixed feelings about at the moment and I'm not really sure how to handle them. I agree that they look too similar at the moment but the reason that I've sort of the left them for the time being is that I'm not sure as to how to differentiate them from the common stone they are found in.
At the moment I have them merging with the stone at the edge of their textures so that their seamless but vanilla minecraft and other texture packs don't do this. They have a completely different texture often in a different colour that leaves an obvious contrasting edge between themselves and the regular stone next to them. This kinda felt weird to me whenever I went exploring underground and went passing by these different blocks, but that may just be because I've been so used to nothing but regular stone down there.
So I'm curious as to what people would prefer. Do you think ditching the seamless edges is the way to go?
The idea of merging these textures with stone is really good, and I noticed it when exploring caves (and said to myself that you knew what you were doing pretty good when you came up with that idea). I don't want the texture of these blocks to change that much, and I surely don't want the seamless edges feeling to go away since it's so much eye-friendly, I just want more ways to tell what is andesite, what is granite and what is diorite, because right now I often mistake one with another while in a cave and I have to mine these to know wich one of these three I found. Of course I'll get used to it at some point and I won't be confused anymore cause I'll remember the details on these three textures, but it's quite hard when you newly installed this texture pack to tell wich one is diorite, andesite or granite.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I'll try and work on that next week and I might do the polished versions of them then too. I think they're called polished...
As for the grass, I feel like that might be something that will be difficult to please everyone. I'm quite a fan of the bright saturated grass. I think it mimics the sunlight reflecting on it quite nicely. So I'm hesitant to change it. Having said that I haven't actually played much around with something less bright and saturated in the context of the other textures in the pack and I also know that the deeper green in quite popular from other packs. So I think I'll keep it on the back of my mind for the moment and return to that one a bit later.
That's a really nice pack! How do you create images like this?
The 3D blocks? For the sides I grabbed the texture in photoshop changed the horizontal width to I think 75% and vertically skewed 25 points (maybe not points, can't remember the unit of measurement so just vertically skew it to whatever looks right). Repeat for the other side but vertically skew it -25 instead. For the top again grab the texture, rotate 45 degrees and change the horizontal width toooooo, eh, can't remember, whatever looks right when positioned above the two sides. As for the water and grass specifically I needed to play around with opacity for the water and one of the grass textures needed to be cut in half with one half positioned infront and the other behind the other grass texture if that makes sense. However the basic instructions above still apply. Oh, and also darken one of the block sides to make it look shadowy and maybe brighten the top.
EDIT: Oh, and you need to blow up the texture in size else everything is gonna look really pixely and stupid when you start making these transformation.
I agree what the hell it reminds of the the axe pack by axebane texture pack which wa my fav. please dont let this die its soo good

The first of the weekly updates done as we enter week 2.
