I think the redstone looks a bit like tails, I think they should connect.
Personal preference..
It's supposed to be reminiscent of tails, sort of have that tail-ish feel. Although I'm not sure if you're pointing that out as a good thing or a bad thing.
Well, I'm definitely NOT doing a skull-on-a-stick (not sorry about that ;)), but I'm thinking that perhaps something mystical and magical and bone-free to keep it from looking too tribal. You know, as if some magical red dust fell out when you mine the fossil. Come on, what ELSE could those red particle effects be caused by??
I was actually referring to the red stuff that poofs out of redstone ore when you hit it. ^^
Also, red flames look really bad on redstone torches because part of the side texture of the redstone torch is reused to create the top-- aka, redstone torches aren't shaped like longgrass (where the texture is just placed in an X shape), they're shaped like boxes. So it looks strange to have 'flames' coming up out of the redstone torch...unless they're square flames (but that still looks strange :P).
If you were referring to something else, ignore the flame rant.
A first pass at some glowstone. It's blue at the moment because I'm having trouble coming up with a good golden yellow coloration. Although I actually really like it blue.... feels very mystical and fantasy-ish. ^^
EDIT: And the texture, in case anyone wants to take a crack at making it look golden.
EDIT EDIT: Only 5 colors. Boo-yah.

I really like the blue color, my only concern is that with the color, it makes it look more like snow flakes, then than crystals. It's an awesome texture, it just might not work for the Nether.
It isn't exactly my style -- being bright, vivid and cartoony (as you intended) rather than warm but it's all rather well done.
I only really have two criticisms if you'll hear them: I'm not a big fan of the grass blades (if that's what they're supposed to be) on the grass block; they seem very flat since there's no shading and overall I just think it looks a bit strange. I've never even been a fan of them (grass blades on grass block surfaces) in the GeruDoku/DokuCraft texture packs. I like the dots though, they remind me very much so of Animal Crossing. My only other qualm is I find myself wishing that the regular stone/cobblestone had a bit more shading for more "oomph" and to make them pop a bit more. Although I think that the "flat" look may be conducive to the over all feel of the texture pack itself, not to mention I nearly forgot that you're working with a limited color palette.
Just my thoughts, take them as you will.
Keep up the great work anyhow!
The pack thus far reminds me somehow of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker; I think it's the convergence of color and the "cartoony" style. Brings a smile to my face. I can't imagine how you come up with all the names for your texture packs haha.
Now, can you be convinced to do a food-themed texture pack? XD

Hm....I can sorta understand the snowflake comparision, although I don't see it myself. I think it looks like fairy crystals. (I'm also thinking of doing a cool netherwort along the same lines.)

It is vibrant, isn't it? Although I do think that homey interiors look quite 'warm' as well.
The grass blades, stone, and cobble aren't supposed to have a lot of shading-- I'm trying to create texture through pattern rather than roughness. That said, I do think the cobble could use a tiny bit of 'roughing up' to make it not quite so smooth. (Memo to me: add cracks to the bedrock) The grass, however, I like a lot as-is and don't intend to further shade the grass blades (which would probably make them look round and strange and even MORE annoying to you. :P)
PS: I've never played any of the zelda games, but I'll take your word for it.
PSS: No, no food texture pack in the future, sorry.
Give netherbrick a more fancy design please, like on your double slab. Glowstone is uhh... REALLY out of place. It would make a really nice ice texture though.
Btw I made your netherrack better.
With AA:
Without AA:
y u no leik netherbrick? I think it's one of my favorite textures. I also want to keep myself from making things too ornate, although I could give it a go and see how it turns out.
I've actually already added AA to the netherrack. It's not in the old download, but you can see it on the terrain.png on the OP if you zoom in. Thanks though.
Like your other packs, you'll only make the terrain and items .png, maybe the armour and then move on.
None of your packs are truly complete.
You even started mobs for the Enchanted pack at one point but you seemed to have given up on them (or not?)
I've actually gotten frustrated with myself about this before, but it's really not something I can help. Unlike Glimmar, who seems perfectly content to work on one pack for ages and polish it until it glows, I get bored with a certain theme/style and want to try something else. And, unfortunately, I find that I'm never completely satisfied with my packs. I pour so much love, time and effort into them, but in the end I find myself wishing for something different....so I go off and make something different, and thus start a new pack.
I also tend to only make textures for things I see a lot and really want reskinned, such as the terrain, GUI, tools, and some mobs (I've done more mobs than armor, btw). I've never felt a need to change things like particle effects. I just don't see the need.
Ideally, this would be a list of things I would like to include in all my packs if I have time. I really need to make a resolution to update my packs once a week to try to get them done.
1) Complete terrain.png (including chests, which I consider to be part of the terrain)
2) All GUI screens
3) Quick bar and menu buttons
4) Tools and items
5) Mobs
6) Amor (maybe...I don't use it that often. Naked SP ftw!)
And that's it. So yeah, my packs probably won't ever be 'complete', even if I do everything I want to do for them.
I think netherbrick is pretty much the texture that is most relevant to have fancy stuff on it like runes or patterns.
I'll try out some patterns/runes and see what I come up with. Maybe I can even do a rando-terrain thing so that not every nether brick has them.... *runs off to plot*
Or a spine with a ball of energy above it.
Here's a video I put together to show how great it looks for a town/village environment.
GAH! MY EYES! x.x
Too....much....believing... *dies*

\o/
Thanks bunches! Perhaps you'll make another video when it's closer to completion.... *hinthintwinkwink*
I shall do my best to finish it post-haste.
Certainly!
I do care. :'c
Aw, I'm sorry.

Thank you very much! That's a big compliment for a wannabe artist like myself. ^^

No candy/dessert-themed pack? But I want to sit under a lolipop tree, in a field of strawberry ice cream!

Curse this work computer!! I can't see any of the images you guys are posting, sorry. I'll have to look at them and get back to you after I get home.
Thank you! That means a lot coming from you.
