When you update and add textures higher than 16x could you also include a normal 16x version? I don't really like Hd texture packs and would hate to have to find another one when I really love how this one looks.

Sure, I'll keep the 16x version. Updates will be longer apart because I will basically be managing two texture packs at the same time, but it can be done.

Nope, it's not dead at all. I've been working on an HD remake for months, with a total of over 200 hours done so far. There have been no updates for a long time because I haven't felt that it was ready, but since 1.7 allows the use of multiple packs, it will finally be updated soon.
I think everythings good except for that mossy brick texture, it doesn't tessellate very well. However, you could probably fix it with some random textures for it
Update: Acacia planks, brewing stand, granite and andesite (1.8 blocks), mossy cobblestone, and cactus textures added.
Oak log wood now matches oak planks, the tip of the iron sword tapers more smoothly, acacia logs no longer have a straight-edged pattern in the bark, cobblestone has been anti-aliased, and polished diorite (1.8 block) no longer has a prominent highlight across its surface.
lol my ing ass.
