I love the rounded cobble alt, but I did not think the mossy cobble did it justice, as it seemed to busy and less detailed, so I made a quick alt for what I think mossy could be like:
Sorta like some bricks have fallen out, possibly after lots of monsters trampling them? (I said it was a quick edit, dont judge me D:)
Neat idea! Although I'll probably combine it with some less-busy moss. Because I like moss. hehe
this is one of the best 16x texture packs i have ever seen the only one i don't like is the diamond as it isn't clear enough but apart from that, awesome. also i think feathercraft is a good name for it
Thanks!
You're right, the diamond ore is a bit hard to spot, but I like having it be small because it feels like a nice little surprise- kinda like the saying, 'good things come in small packages'. ^^
WHY MUST YOU BE SO TALENTED. Please, for the love of god, share your secrets on your hand made noise! HOW DOES IT LOOK SO NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!??
Um...lots of time and effort? lol
Here's a tip (or two):
Say you're trying to shade the bottom of this rectangle. Each of the grey wool blocks represents a pixel.
For the most part, you want to make checkerboard patterns- corner to corner, not edge to edge. Edge to edge creates lines through your texture, which you don't want.
For wooly textures, the checkerboard pattern should be more pronounced. For stoney textures, it's okay to have some pixels match up edge to edge, like above. Also, the lighter pixels in between the checker-board shading should be darker for stone textures- if the gaps are too light, it suggests something woven.
Also, can I get some thoughts on this netherrack? I'm not really sure what kind of style/feel/theme I want for the nether... any ideas? I've already done bones for soulsand in another pack, so I don't think I want to do it again.
I always find it a nice surprise when texture packs change the colour of netherrack. I dunno if you want to be that daring, but a less saturated charcoal-ish dark blue/purple would look sort of cool. I think the Aardvark pack has something like that.
Also, if I may continue to be pedantic, I would love an alternate glowstone texture that doesn't look like a lantern. It looks strange when you walk into the nether and see a cluster of lanterns growing out of the ceiling.
I really like this pack so far. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Wow, that is probably the best obsidian I have ever seen. The netherrack is really good, though, I'd like something less stereotypical for netherrack, and for soulsand, maybe a bubblly, oozy, porous, muddy... thing...
The forest is meant to be a greeny, brown place, the white birch if too bright will just stand out and look weird. :smile.gif:

What he said.
EDIT: Arrow fail
That snow is really Dynamic.
16x obsidian is friggin annoying. ffffffffff
CALM DOWN! It's not THAT hard.... unless you're going in a completely different direction than from what I think you are....
I just am.
Great pack! :biggrin.gif:
Yes, yes it is. Behold the shameful glory of the obsidian-that-took-three-hours-to-make-and-still-looks-bad:
And some more new stuff:
Pistons
Glowstone

Hope that made a little bit of sense. :smile.gif:
