I was about to try to do the textures for zipline mod for some reason, but then I remembered my art skills aren't that great and on the computer they're limited to clever copy and pasting :tongue.gif:
I absolutely loved the rustic texture pack! I was heart broken when I found out there would be no more updates:(. Anyways, Is it possible for someone to tell me how to do this because I want to help the best I can.
I edited the bars from Jake Von to make them look more like iron and gold. I'm not 100% sure about them, Tell me what you think of them. (they look beter in-game!)

Don't use the JPEG, use the PNG from imageshack
I wonder what it would look like if it had a bit more character with the swirls like Ovo's wildgrass and rails?
Otherwise great retouch
I made a better looking slimeball. I tried to make it look rough around the edges, tell me if it looks good (or otherwise :wink.gif: ).
I was thinking that I should maybe make it completely (or at least more) smooth. But it looks good in-game!
anyway you could make the inside a bit rougher in pixelation just so it's not glassy, but at the same time smooth the edges a bit? Really like the two-tone green :biggrin.gif:
Playing around with Gimp, I've discovered the perspective tool reduces quality ridiculously. So much for making an iron bar from the iron block :tongue.gif:

Hmmm... Yes, I think I can do that! Thanks, this would make it a lot better I think. I'll probably also make a smooth round ball version for those who want it that way too. It does look kind of strange, what with the edges being rough and the inside being perfectly spherical.
Give me a few hours, I'll see what I can do. Might also look into the snowball and the ghast fireball.
I'm glad to see that people are keeping this pack alive. I was disappointed when Ovo decided to hang it up, but I'm thankful for the beautiful pack he gave us. It's still one of my favorite HD packs.

"Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn... it's just a game that you play."
Is this pack not compatible with the 1.1 update? I'm seeing little flame animations on the blocks and the water tells me to run MCPatcher, but I use OptiFine. Is there something I can do, or is it just a compatibility thing? (Non-HD texture packs seem towork fine).
Optifine isn't updated. The patcher probably is though.
The only new items they added were the spawning eggs, I think, so you won't have a texture for those unless you throw in the defaults or someone does them real quick :tongue.gif:
MCPatcher is usually up to date without needing to be updated :tongue.gif:
And I always wait for Optifine before updating Minecraft.
EDIT: ^Find the resized default pack in 64x (not the faithful ones, but the resized templates) and put the eggs in the same position from that item.png as they are in the item.png in Ovo's.
Just copy/paste them over.
Or you could just resize them by 400% from the textures in your jar :tongue.gif:
Shouldn't the title be [1.0][64x] OVO'S RUSTIC REDEMPTION [WIP] or something like that?
In a word, yes. Resolution and version compatibility should be included, by all means. The use of a "WIP" tag might not be prudent, though. It's one thing when the texture pack's creator is there to work through the checklist, decide which textures they are satisfied with, and eventually declare the pack "complete"... but this being a community project, the process of completion is a little more open-ended.

I personally think that "[1.0]" would throw the assumption that the pack is completed and possibly make other artists think they are not needed here.

Perhaps, but keep in mind that the standard is in place so that the average person browsing the forum can easily get the information they need without having to hunt for it in the thread... an admirable purpose, I think. Besides, it looks a bit more professional. Who knows, maybe it will even attract artistically-inclined newcomers who hadn't previously heard of Ovo's pack? One never knows. :wink.gif:

I just want to say that I really love this texture pack.
However, I have 1 complaint. The glass is extremely see-through, especially with Better Glass Mod. I think some added, yet very subtle streaks would go a long way to making the glass look right.
Aside from that, this is a solid pack and I look forward to its completion! :smile.gif:

There's an alt in the alternate folder that you would probably like if you don't like the big empty square.

Hmm... come to think of it, a slightly dust-streaked window alt might look nice. I might give that a try tomorrow, if I remember.
Meanwhile, frame overlay for paintings:
The staggered plank backing is kind of weird for a painting, but considering how rarely you see the back of a painting, I didn't really give it much thought.

Likewise, thanks for your support. I love the work you've been doing for Mythos, by the way. :smile.gif:

There's a thread with them all from 16x to 256x. Maybe 512x too, though I can't seem to find it.
