Just added a bit of soft light down the middle of each leaf to make them look a little more detailed, then pumped up the contrast and brightness with a levels pass. :smile.gif:

I'm guessing the speaker is the noteblock, but what are the ventilation shaft blocks?
Thanks for all the praise, shucks :smile.gif:!!
It's pretty rad to do this for a living, but even nicer to find an outlet to do it as a hobby (like it was before it became a job!). Not gonna lie :wink.gif:
It is indeed! Though I think I might end up making a more "realistic" version of the noteblock as a stage speaker or pair of apartment speakers side by side. So many ideas...
The ventilation shaft blocks, as with a lot of the "flavor" blocks I put together are usually the gazillion colored wools you can make in MC. I never use them for anything, personally, so when I look at them I just see space for adding detail to the world. The asphalt, asphalt stripes, vent block, vent shaft, carpets (red, yellow, and black), and cardboard boxes are all various wools.
I really think the best thing about this pack is how well all the textures fit with each other. None of them seem out of place and they all blend together in such an awesome way it just makes me want to cry!
I love the newest textures, can't wait to populate my world with some fallout shelters too!
EDIT: If you don't mind me asking, what's the ETA on release? Are you waiting until you finish off the terrain.png first?
If so, how many textures are left? (Sorry bout all the questions, I'm just really, REALLY eager to try it!)

Thank you for the kind words! :biggrin.gif:!
As for your questions, I don't have a strict ETA on release, but I am basically waiting for terrain.png to be complete before I release anything. kz.png is already totally done. I've kept some of its contents secret for discovery later :wink.gif:
As for what's left? Let me go check...
68 textures. Which might sound like a lot, but a LOT of them (the pumpkin, the watermelon, train tracks, etc) are all things that basically require little more than duplicating and modifying a texture. The number one concerns on my list for right now are replacing the stone, gravel, clay, and ores textures. Then after that probably replacing the last of the plant textures (since they're largely just little placards, really easy stuff). Then going through and doing the last of the mechanicals, the switch, tracks, etc. Then the lava, water, and Nether stuffs. That's really it though. I have several wool colors left to do whatever fun stuff I want to with too. So we'll see what happens!
*huddles down in the corner of the thread to await release*
Just a tip- I really think you should do water before you put out the pack. The default water is just so....blue. I'm sure an artist like yourself finds it as eyeball-searing as I do. :tongue.gif:

Hope that answers your questions :smile.gif:
Awesome, thanks for taking the time to let us know what you still have to do! :biggrin.gif:
Yea, don't be worried to take your time with it though, it's better to have a quality pack than a rushed one!
Mind you, I should really update my texture packs now. I've been putting it off for a while now trying to get everything done but I keep on re-making textures I've already done because I wasn't happy with them. Now I don't think I have any fans left! :tongue.gif:
Taking some ideas right now for what I should replace the watermelon and pumpkin with.
I always really liked what the Last Days texture set did with a TV set for the pumpkin but:
1. I don't wanna "steal" their ideas.
2. I don't want errant TV sets growing in the forest.
One thought was to replace their grow vine with a sort of air-drop beacon and then make the watermelons MRE crates (that drop MRE packs instead of slices...?). The pumpkin could just be... maybe a generator? Then when you put a torch in it it lights up?
Hai, my name is Mike. You can call me Mike, Ceslum, Poly, Cross, or Cap'n, depending on which area of the internet I know you from.
I'm a montage editor and love playing minecraft, check out my youtube!
Even though this is only two screenshots, there's a LOT going on here.
Watermelons are now air dropped MRE packages (replete with MREs themselves upon "slicing it up").
Pumpkins are now air dropped generators. Powering one with a torch turns on their lights!
New rails! Also, new rubble debris in the form of stone slabs. All plants have been replaced. I hope you like the tree fern I made. That was fun to draw!
Looks great. Not sure I like cacti, vines, or dead shrubs though. Maybe add something more normal as alternates in the final version?
*Edit* I feel stupid now... I just realized you already said you would do this. I also looked at the other pictures- I think my head exploded from the awesomeness.
Aww shucks :biggrin.gif: Thanks for the praise!

Just as a fair warning- I'm taking notes. :]
*stunned into a worshipful silence*
Hot damn. No wonder you get paid to do this.

Your thoughts?
I was going to make a tasty caprese salad, actually! Just because the apocalypse has happened doesn't mean we can't be sophisticated!
Actually I'll probably just have it be a baggie of sun-dried tomatoes, but we'll see. Gotta get your vitamin C after the bomb, ya know!
