Welcome to the world at its end. Or rather, near its end. Extremely nigh, to be precise.
This pack is about the world as it circles the drain. While most post-apocalyptic packs focus on the world after a nuclear war or a many years after something quite nasty, this pack takes place during the nastiness. The decay is just setting in and maybe, just maybe, you can help set the world right again!
This is version 3.0 and within that are the following:
TOO MUCH TO MENTION!
...and a few other odds and ends that need making, still.
What's next? Mobs and items, for sure! Just gonna take some time!
IMPORTANT NEWS!
Hey all. It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that I will no longer be personally carrying on with The End is Extremely Nigh, nor its other variants. A combination of my own personal projects as well as demands at home and work have kept me from it for too long.
I'm incredibly touched that so many have enjoyed this little thing that I originally was tinkering on for just my friends and myself. As an artist it's an amazing thing to see so many enjoying what I've built, so thank you, one and all!
Whoever would like to take up the helm and continue on with this project has my blessing. Simply credit me as the originator and link to this thread and we're all square - pun intended ;)!
Thanks again! Happy Minecrafting!

Rich decoration and usefulness is a big theme in my modified set.

STOLEN WOOD TEXTURES from the Summerfield texturepack !!
Dude, read the original post. I even put the point you're harping on in Italics so as to avoid this kind of snafu.
Here it is again, bolded this time:
Note: I used the Summerfields texture set as a "background" set while I systematically replaced everything inside it. There will NOT be any Summerfields assets in the release of my own texture set, but I just wanted to head that off at the pass, since you'll see a few Summerfields trees in the background. Definitely not taking credit for Lithiumsound's hard work!

i understand but still man his texturepack is copyrighted you should've used the default minecraft textures as a "background" set.
Amazing texture pack1 I love the decaying brick. One small problem I have with it is the name - "The End is Extremely Nigh". It doesn't make sense. Something can't be "Extremely Nigh" - it's either nigh or it isn't. There aren't different levels of nigh-ness. I hope you'll change the title to "The End is Nigh", because, apart from the title, I love this texture pack and I want to see it do well.
This is truly amazing. Everything is fabulously well executed, and I very much enjoy the creative touches of the 'present' TNT and the medical supplies chest.
However, I would very strongly urge you to make alternates for the vines, cactus, and desert shrubs that are less....gruesome. I would use this in a heart beat if not for the fact that those things completely gross me out. I'm also not sure if they work very well with the feel of the rest of the pack-- the construction materials have a 'anarchist takeover' feel, but the maggot cacti and small intestine vines remind me of a Steven King alien invasion novel.
Regardless, I wish you the best of luck with this-- I am exceedingly jealous of your skill. :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: Sorry, I'm guilty of violating one of the cardinal rules of texture pack reviewers-- I only skimmed the OP, rather than giving it a true read-through.
In light of the fact that you are indeed going for a 'taken over by slime aliens' look, I concede that the textures you have made are wonderfully suited to that. For those of us with weaker stomachs, however, I would still urge you to consider making a few less gory alternates. :smile.gif:
I love you and I love you for making this. I love how the world is not completely destroyed (more like being destroyed), and how you added the modern touches like the furnances. The cactuses look extremely strange and I think you should turn the endermen into an alien. The End could most likely be their homeworld, with the enderdragon being the "commander" of the aliens. The nether could be a completely corrupted version of another world, or the moon that's corrupted.
*Sound of jaw hitting the floor at the sight of the update*
Oh please make some more normal cacti and vines to go with all these other godly textures! I really don't want my cacti garden to be alien maggot-infested.

Done and done! Thanks for the tip!
Working on trees right now, because someone got me thinking about them :tongue.gif:

"My Life" -> "Pointless"
This is GREAT.
I bloody love this!!!
And THAT. Is saying a lot.
Either way, this texture pack looks amazing, and I would use it if minecraft
wasn't boring for me. I just need insperation.
Rating:
I'm a pixel artist who makes pixel things and maps! I also do line art occasionally.
I have two work in progress resource packs!
This is the second one!
And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".
However, I would very strongly urge you to make alternates for the vines, cactus, and desert shrubs that are less....gruesome. I would use this in a heart beat if not for the fact that those things completely gross me out.

How did the alien menace get to our world? Could it have anything to do with this strange experimental technology?!
Oh boy, trees! Also: I hate drawing leaves. They're nearly impossible to get to tile correctly.
Finished up the tilled earth graphics too. Now it's a lovely place to grow your alien-free tomatoes!
Enjoy!!
