What this is:
It first started out as my old Realistic HD Texture Pack I wanted a Minecraft that looked high quality and high resolution while still being able to recognise my surroundings. The feedback for that pack was overwhelming and soon enough I had many requests to include my work into their own. Scuttles asked to use my texture pack as a template for a pack he was working on. I was curious as to what he could do. He ended up creating LB Photo Realism. I was shocked by how popular it was. So after much thinking I decided to work on my own photo realism pack. Add my own special touch to my already outdated pack and to also add more flavour to the already booming texture pack list. So this pack was born.
I was ready to release it for 1.7 but then 1.8 came out and the 1.9 Pre releases soon after. So development has really been a problem. However I have had my pack on my site open to the public and after a largely popular video teaser I raked up over 5,000 downloads for that pack alone with more and more people checking it out and providing feedback.

Wow, interesting! I love the scrolls for when choosing single player, multiplayer, texture packs, etc.
Thanks, I tried taking a unique approach to it instead of making them stone slabs like most other texture packs do :smile.gif: I'd say I did quite well but might edit it a little more to facilitate the smaller buttons.
Awesome texture pack! Btw: you showed us your texture pack with GLSL shaders. How can one use GLSL shaders in 1.9 pre?
Please help me, I want GLSL shaders!!! Btw I totally support and fully use your pack, it's awesome.
Thanks man :smile.gif:
Simple answer, you can't. I used a variety of different footage on different minecraft.jar's using the same pack.
But I am glad you like this pack. I just hope when modding API is released GLSL will be ported to that :/
From one HD artist to another, this looks great! The only thing I question is the dead shrub, it looks like my alternate. If you ever want to collab on something, let me know! :smile.gif:
Edit: that fire is the best I've ever seen. Is there any chance I can use that as a placeholder?
Hi KDStudios! I just made some pictures with the 256x Texture pack:
I hope you like them! Again: I love your texture pack and I fully support it! Good job guys! Keep up the good work!
Wow!
Those screenshots are fantastic.
I'm definitely adding some of these to the topic!
Thanks again for the screenshots and the support :smile.gif:
Means a lot!
I checked out this texture pack and I have to say I like your other one much better still.
This new one is too "dark" for my taste in many places. The wood is too dark. The glowstone is too dark. Etc, etc. I'm sure others will like it though.
Don't get me wrong, there are several things I do like about it. But, most of it is too dark and also doesn't "blend" well enough for me in places.
EDIT: And, just to be clear ... On my vote for still updating the original texture pack, I'm actually voting for continued updating even past 1.9. It almost looks like you were planning on updating it anyhow but are asking whether or not you should continue updating it after 1.9 as opposed to really asking whether or not you should even update it to 1.9 in the first place (which would just happen to be the last time you plan on updating it). You should actually put parenthesis around "for the last time" to be more clear.

Well the poll to update the older texture pack seems to be pretty one sided for the moment. But a lot can happen in a few weeks.
I may end it earlier. Depending on the amount of votes that appear and how big the gap they get.
Yeah it is much darker than my other texture pack. I found things were way too easily spotted. In this pack. Nights and dark caves really are something to be feared. Enemies aren't as easily seen and even the creepers blend into the land making them even bigger predators than before.
I really appreciate your honesty, I actually welcome it from everyone. If there is something you don't like. Point it out so I can reflect on it! :smile.gif:
Thanks again :smile.gif:
Bump - This pack is awesome and I don't think it's gotten the views/DL's it deserves so I decided to reply to bump. More people need to try it, it should be up there with the other top Photo Realism packs.

Well it has literally only just been added to Minecraftforums.
I know it will get there eventually because of the sure scale of detail it has.
But thanks! :smile.gif:
This pack is amazing. I do have a question though. Do you plan on eventually implementing animated textures, such as glowstone, soul sand, and such? I've noticed stuff like that in other texture packs, and it's something I think would look absolutely gorgeous with this work of art.
Still, even without, I am absolutely in love with this pack. Good job, sir, and I look forward to any updates. =D

Wait, so are you really asking whether or not to end updating of the pack in general after all? That is, are you really asking if you should stop updating it (with a yes vote) starting after 1.9 or sooner as opposed to asking whether you should continue to update the old pack in the first place (which would just happen to be the last time)?
The question comes down to how you worded the question:
"Should I update my old HD Realistic Pack to 1.9 for the last time?"
versus
"Should I still update my old HD Realistic Pack to 1.9 (for one last time)?"
I took the vote to mean the way that the second one is worded even though it is actually worded the first way.
The first wording is ambiguous making it look like it could also really mean "Should I stop updating my old HD pack after I update it one more time?" as opposed to something like "Should I still continue to update my old HD pack (at least one more time) for 1.9 in addition to this new HD pack?"

Your reply made me question it again.
~ iiiHuman ~
Oh... Oops. I guess I should reconsider my wording for it entirely.
You're right I could have worded it better.
Okay. So my old texture pack hasn't been updated and has been abandoned since 1.7.3
As far as I'm concerned I'm done with it. I may update it for myself and use it in a few playthroughs if I feel like it. That is the way it is now.
What I'm asking people is whether or not I should update it to 1.9 (or the final release as Mojang put it) and then end it there, the last time it will be updated regardless of Mojang's updates afterwards or any possible graphical errors I made with it.
Personally I'd love to update it, I really enjoyed making it and playing with it.
I still believe it's one of the best HD texture packs out there that still shows the way Minecraft is supposed to look but at a much higher resolution.
With all of that in mind the question makes sense. But not everyone knows that. So I will work on it now.
Edit: Stuff it, I changed it to something no one can complain about :tongue.gif:
"Should I update my old HD Realistic Pack to 1.9?"
Are those textures coming to this pack or a new one??????
I WANT THEM!!!!!
Erm...
Haha damn you got me.
They're a very very very early work in progress for a secret pack of mine.
That is ALL I will say on the matter :tongue.gif:
