Very nice if you want I could make a video on youtube for you if you would like.?
Thanks for the offer GolfingNUTT. I think I'd like to do a video when I finally finish off the texture pack. There's a lot of work remaining. :smile.gif: I may have to look you up once it is complete!
Well, I wasn't able to work on this as much as I had hoped today, and I'm sick as well. But I did manage to get a few things done.
- The shading for the grass side and snow side textures.
- Altered the shape of the grass and snow on their respective side textures.
- Put together the block breaking animation.
The block breaking animation was pretty fun after coming up with what I hope is a fairly unique idea. Here you can see side by side several frames from the animation. I'll likely darken the pixels that represent the cracks, but other than that I think it turned out well. :smile.gif: How about you?
I meant to add an update last night, but I wound up wasting a lot of time trying to make some decent looking ores to replace the very basic ones I made when I started this pack. That process turned into a major time sink as I went through attempt after attempt and always found the results to be lacking.
In order to break up that monotony I did fix an oversight with the fast graphics and the way it affects the grass and snow side textures. I was also able to whip up something for the fancy and fast leaves for pine and normal trees.
Before facepalming my way through the ores, I actually started off with tweaking the color of the stone bricks. I found a slightly darker tone than the original which seems to fit in well with the overall feel of the pack so far. The mossy and cracked blocks that use the same brick background were adjusted as well.
For some reason I feel like I am forgetting something, but as I am currently at work I can't glance over the files to see what I missed. Oh well. I should have an updated version posted tonight.
I've spent a couple hours messing with ores again tonight and feel like I finally have something worth keeping. But I would like to learn what others think, so please take a look and share your thoughts. If there's anything you feel I can improve, I look forward to reading your feedback.
