Hey guys, while playing around I recently discovered that with 1.8 you can now use semitransparent textures on any block! I tried it around, on some simple stuff like trapdoors, glass, redstone, adding dirt under rails, etc. and it works somewhat good. For some reason, it only works on small or tiny render distance, though. It's also a bit glitchy with what is actually rendered behind the blocks. Though it seems that adding stuff like faded glares on windows and such details would be possible now! Check it out!
This adds tons of possibilities for texture packers!
(how come I'm always making these awesome discoveries? :3)

Wow. Nice.
This is a nice find. I hope this means Notch has fixed the bug where water won't render behind and semi-transparent textures.
