Speedpak is my entry for the 3 Hour Texture Pack Challenge. It was, as the name of the challenge points out, made in three hours. I, however, plan on making it a completely serious pack. The style is both simplistic while keeping detail in mind.
I'd love if you guys could go to the link posted above for the 3 hour challenge and vote for my pack! It'd be great if I could get some votes! :happy.gif:
I'd really like to thank everybody in the town of Canalis in the Liquidcraft server. (I play here! Feel free to join and say hi!) I'd love to see some of my fellow forumers drop in the server and meet them! I'd really like to thank my friend Grinmore (Samus suit) for organizing a great town like this. thanks to everybody who volunteered to be in the pictures too!
This is my second serious pack, and I'm hoping to get some comments and such on it. I'd love to hear any criticism, and after the contest is over, I'll start adding on to it more. I'm not going to neglect Fiftyninecraft though. I plan on giving both packs the attention they need.
Thank you anybody that downloads. Each download is another step towards world domination me being happy.
And I'd like to remind you to go to the Challenge Thread and vote for Speedpak!
Yay for legal stuff that keeps people from stealing my stuff! Great pack, seems to be very under appreciated. I really liked the simplistic style of your blocks, it gave the game a nice feel and some flow from one texture to the next. I would love to see you do 1.8 soon.
Points I really liked:
Bricks: They look realistic, yet simple, love it.
Pumpkins: The hourglass is a nice touch, seeing how its in a way your "theme"
Wools: I like the fact these are less noisy, fits the simplistic feel well, while still looking like the original wool.
Some personal things I recomend considering, even though the pack in general is very nice:
Gravel: seemed bland and boring, especialy next to the rest of the pack.
Coal: I found it to be too dark for my personal tastes, as well as a shape that just bugged me, I cant explain why, its probably just personal preference.
Ore Blocks: Im all for designs, and your hourglass looks awesome on the pumpkin, but the way its offset to one corner of the ore blocks bugged me alot.
Flowers and Mushrooms: While I like the idea behind them, the fact they get placed in a X pattern destroys the look the texture seems to be going for, you should probably consider redoing these as one object instead of a row of them.
Cacti: the white bugs me, its not necessarily bad looking, it just bugs me personaly, I feel like it is clashing.
Again all the above is just personal preferences, and where you go with the pack is up to you. Though I am interested to see where you end up taking this pack. Ill watch this thread for the future. Again, great work.
