I've gotten tired of having to look throughout the world for the new stuff for textures.
I will be making an in-game terrain, like many people include in the OP for their text. packs. in addition to the norm, I will have entities on Risugami's shelf mod, and a whole separate area for all the different wool textures. I will make a list of what faces to put on the wool, as well.
Sonic CD qualifies as a Sonic Vintage game, right?
Also, that glowstone.....Hnnnnnggghhh!!
That's exactly what I wanted for netherrack, something that would give us the feel of being in Lava Reef Act 2. Current Netherrack and Glowstone textures should stay as they are now, though. We can change them once we're ready to move on to the 2nd variation of the texture pack. (I've already got a few good ideas for the 1st variation)
The possibilities of the past and future are as various as our imaginations. How far we can think, and what we can think of, is dependent on each of us, and what we believe in.
Edit: About the rings...I wanted to make the portal to the Nether a Giant Ring, to simulate going to a bonus stage; but since I can't get anyone to fulfill my request for a mod that would be required for this to happen, we have to wit until I can get my life sorted out, so I can make the mod myself. Expect a long wait for this to happen.
I don't think you need a mod to do that. one of the large square paintings should be turned into a giant ring with a transparent background, and then you could just place that on the front of a portal. wouldn't look perfect, but it'd be a big start. maybe you could do that with nearly all of the paintings, as in turn them into certain objects or decorations.
So much love has been put into this I love it!!
I got to say as I have made a couple Video Game TP's, this is brilliant :smile.gif:
I'm also interested, Pokecraft often made me stumble on some tiles and items, and I had to edit or make brand new ones. How have you managed to get around awkward blocks?
Awkward blocks? Like tiles, and just graphics that have no relation to what your making textures for to begin with? I've ran into a lot of situations like these, and pretty much all I do is work on what I know I absolutely can, and then eventually I think of something, or a really ecstatic Sonic fan waves a freebie idea in front of your nose. This usually makes me say "Why didn't I think of THAT??!!"
But really if I cannot seem to find any help or ideas on an awkward tile I make one by hand, and ask for opinions, make it better, and ask... and so on, until everyone is comfortable with the tile.
And @NotBitstripsDoom
Where do you guys get your ideas for your display names?? lmao love it, I think maybe your idea for the ring may work, but then again, I didn't think you could post paintings on top of a portal. I'll consider this.
Also, don't forget to give me insight on the newest update regarding the things I added/fixed! :smile.gif:

No.
I don't think you can place anything on portal blocks, as it is more like torches, in that it is connected to the blocks next to it, and will disappear if said block is broken.
Besides, Portal blocks have multiple textures, and they swirl by default. By making portal blocks into one, and making them a giant ring, we can use the multiple textures, to create a spinning giant ring. Can't do that with some silly picture.
Edit: Affinite, I have a few more ideas, including one to fix our boring sun, but I'm too tired at the moment. I'll message you sometime tomorrow, if I can find the time.
Edit2: I can't remember if I've made all the different wool colors or not, but cactus green, purple, and brown are the only textures I don't have a face for.

In response to a suggestion to put sprites on the wool, this is how it is turning out.
I tried to keep the textures very woolly looking or however you say that. I tinted the faces to match their applied wool block as well.
File I created and placed into the .zip file to solve the problem of whether or not I should put them in [alt wool.png]. If you don't want them, then simple. Don't add them. Want them, add them. Want only some, because sheep rarely give wool with faces on them? Easy. Select only the few you want.
Hey, I know only three textures, but I had to start somewhere so.. yea.
Blue wool- Sonic
Black wool- Shadow
Pink wool- Amy
(should be obvious if you are a Sonic fan)
I'll go with IronWaffle's Idea and I think I'll but a "Grounder" face on the light gray wool to solve that mild problem.
I truly think finding a texture for every block isn't a problem, so this will be a secondhand project along with [obviously] completing the terrain.png (and everything else).
Hey dude! Way past cool texture pack! I'm making my own sonic texture pack and you've given me some great ideas, so now I'm gonna share some of my ideas with you.
- you could make the sun little planet from sonic CD
-you should make the chest an item block with rings
-you should use tail's face for the orange or yellow wool
-If you read the comics, you could use scrouge (anti-sonic) for the cactus green wool
-you should realy display a screen shot with all these items It would help those making suggestions
That about covers it...
Thanks for the awsome texture pack!!!!!

I love you so much right now.
I'll get this when HD texture support is released. In the mean time though, I'd better get cracking on that sonic map that I am making...
You could use them for light blue wool, or for a mob.
@Affinite: you should check out that link in my sig. its awsome, trust me. :biggrin.gif:
Site is pretty cool. I might register. put my pack there too :smile.gif:
Here have a preview of what the redstone wire will look like and what the new redstone freshly mined looks like, I personally like it. its based off of the original 16x16 on made 32x32 by me and then added pieces of scrap metal that I would imagine coming from a spring. Here is the photo of it all.

Now THAT is cool. Do you mind if I use a similar idea for my texture pack?
Also: I'm going to post mine there, when its done. I already have a topic about it there.

I can't do anything about similar ideas and tiles, I have no problem with it nonetheless though. :smile.gif: When you post your pack on sonicpros PM me the url :biggrin.gif:
I'm currently trying to do the same.. lol

I'll do that.
And: What about using bean the dynamite for the green wool?

I think I will go with that, because I will try to make the wool all VINTAGE, I know that Shadow isn't so I may have to remove him.
No not shadow!
He's kinda vintage... Sonic Adventure 2 is for a sega console... Thats kinda old right?
Also: If you do change that you should change amy too. You're using the one from Sonic Adventure. It would be more "vintage" to use the Sonic CD version.

Oh and also,
@TheTruthOfPerfection
If its before 2000. Thats just how I'm basing it hahaha!
Later I can change the palette of the netherrack to blue to match the glowstone, if everyone thinks it is a good idea.

The sun, other then you, I was actually very recently told that I should do that.
The chest, I actually just revamped, and I'm liking it much.
Tails face, is good. Don't know why in the hell I chose to do Amy first.
Green wool, I'll have to check on that. I never did read the comics.
About the "displaying a universal screenshot"
Someone actually just finished building a custom terrain.png that should solve this problem.
Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it! :smile.gif:
green could be jet the hawk from zero grav or that little bird that they cut that he themed from btw i read ur post above mine
if you didn't notice i leik pokemon
Yes, on second thought scratch scrouge, bean the dynamite from sonic the fighters would be better.
@Affinite: Its not even near done yet and I'm having major problems...

Use chaos for something.
