This pack is loosely based on the impressionist style from the 19th century such as Van Gogh and Claude Monet. This pack has been a work in progress for 8 months and will probably continue to be so for a long time. As my skills increase I find the need to revisit old textures that I feel can be done better.

I have created a new pack for Steelfeather's Pixel Art challenge. It's called Remnant and you can check it out here.

I've decided it would be a good idea to use this post as announcement section. That way all my fans can keep up with my work. Yay!
First off here is a step-by-step summery of how the overhaul to this pack will work.
1) I will spend the next few months working on creating two versions of every texture, sprite and mob. In essence I will be making two versions of this pack. One version, called Impressions, will keep to the original impressionistic theme. The other, called Vestige, will keep closer to the style of my stone brick and torch textures.
2) I will be creating a video tutorial detailing how to customize your pack using an image editing program. I will do this because I will not be using the Minecraftcustomizer.com for my alternative. This is due to the fact that my brother and I are building a site to host our work and hopefully it will be up by the end of the year.
3) Once I have finished all of the vanilla textures I will be splitting the packs into two different threads. (most likely, it also may happen before that)
4) All work on any of my other packs is being discontinued. I want to focus entirely on this pack. (this does not include the collab effort with drfrozenfire)
5) Once I finish vanilla textures I will be starting on mod support. Once I hit this stage I will need suggestions as I do not use many mods myself.
If you can make an HD texture pack, the UTD, one of the largest tech related groups on the ENTIRE forums would be glad to have you aboard as a designer for us. Your texture pack(s) would be posted on our thread and you would be granted a free membership. Contact me for more details!

The name's Hyp, and I am trying to become a better artist!.
The landscape shot looks awesome, and I like the textures in the stair shot too. I think the stone, dirt, grass, and leaf textures are really solid. The wood however... way too rich in color for my taste. I'm not sold on the glass texture either. Good luck on the rest of the pack!

I agree. This pack looks amazing apart from the wood and glass. The red of the wood seems a bit off and the actual block is just a bit random. Glass.... I dunno, just don't like it that much. Wish I could give you actual feedback on it, but yea...

Yeah, I know what you mean about the wood color. I was attempting a mahogany color but even with this resolution it is hard to get the depth that mahogany has.

Hmm... I suppose I can revisit the glass. (Thinks for a bit) Oh! I just got a great idea.
Ok, here is a screenshot with the updated wood and glass. (also updated the op)
This glass is giving me no end of troubles. Does anyone know why minecraft reads opacity values for ice but not glass?
I don't know if it's a coincidence, but the torches looks exsactly like bordercraft's.
Not a coincidence I am using my old HD terrain.png (from my old HD pack) as a place holder. My old pack contained content from Bordercraft and the Ornate pack.
42 I just got the word from my owner that you are now a artist for the UTD, and i would like to say that we are glad to have you working with us. I myself like how this pack looks and can't wait for it to come out!

I think this looks really good. I would like to take it for a test drive.
When I have finished the terrain.png (or at least as much as I feel necessary) I will release it. Hopefully that will be by the end of next week. I am getting into the more detail oriented terrain blocks (things like the furnace and tnt) now so progress is slowing down a bit.
Is there any way we could contact you quicker.. us UTD admins use skype, so Casey and I could collaborate with you much quicker and easier... Or AIM. Basically anything with and IM system would be ideal.
