Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.
I tried it out, and I must say it's one of the best texture packs out there and it's not even complete!
The only thing I don't like is the torch, looks odd with the flames and smoke coming out of it.
Hopefully you retexture items, armor, and tools.
Hi this texture pack look's Awesome I have a question...
Would this be able to run the 512x
AMD II X6 1100T (3.3Ghz x 6)
16gb 2000Mhz OCZ Platinum RAM
256GB SSD
2.5TB 7200RPM Hard drive
ATI RADEON 5770 1GB
This probably sound's stupid but im just thinking everybody is saying it'll take LOTS of power and im not sure of the 256x or the 512x
But ill try both because this texture pack look's awesome :biggrin.gif:
(And no im not a show off this is what ill have in 3 week's time i do not brag or whatever people say
and im about to ask a question everybody will hate me for *sigh*)
Does anybody have a Terraria server i can play on as my one has broken down and have to use a bad PC For 3 weeks (Funny you pay more for mac's but they wont be able to handle this XD)
Are you joking or just bragging (I know you said you aren't)
That could definitely run a 512x texture pack, although (and this sort of goes for everyone) you would have to run java VM with some extra ram to avoid "Minecraft has run out of memory" errors and the like. Doing that I can run LB Photo Realism on my *laptop* and it's a *dell*, mind you it is wise to slow processor speed in order to cope with the heat coming off the ram for anyone who bought a dell. Although then minecraft has to use more ram in order to cope with the lack of processor time available (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space-time_tradeoff)
And to the OP, this is amazing. I love most of the textures although some of them look like they've been drawn in MS paint (I can assure you that's the minority). I can't wait for this. I think you should ask the maker of MCPatcher to see if it's even possible let alone liable to run such a high resolution

it was white, its arms were flailing around in a derpish manner
I'm not ready to release it right now (maybe after a week, or maybe more), but you can preview the 512x texture.png here. You can even use that in game if you want, although it may have bugs or it might be missing some things (e.g. breaking animation)
I made textures for TehKrush's Plastic Craft mod using your textures as a baseline.
Do you mind me releasing it when you release this texture pack?

and btw sorry for double posting, but I love this texture pack and everything in it except for the torches. it looks very wierd. :S

Were all people, and as such we all have different opinions, so I do believe he can post that.
Every post by this kid is a 2-3 word response on his very first thoughts on a texture pack.
Zero reasoning is presented in his comment and therefore said comment is completely invalid and useless in it's nature.
On the other hand I have to admit that at first glance I was relatively disappointed with the pack, but after
using it for a while i've come to realize it's true uniqueness and overall quality. It's great that
it's so accessible due it's "Vector" based textures and also nice on how simple it actually is.
