Optifine recently added the ability to change entity and block entity models/animations. Is there a possibility of you updating the pack to add support for this, so that chests use the old full-cube model with no animation?
Also, would you consider porting the pack to MCPE? (Pocket, Windows 10, Gear VR, Apple TV, and etc. Editions) MCPE has recently gotten full custom resource pack support, and tools such as this one already exist to easily port most of the textures over (though some will need some changing/fixing): https://redd.it/58t5fc
Just one quick question as far as porting to other formats/edititions:
If you know where to find the tools and such, why don't you do that yourself?
Not saying that the author will or will not bother with your request, but are you able to just do that yourself in the first place?
(and then maybe provide a download for everyone else who would want it?)
While I could definitely do it myself, I don't have the pack author's permission to redistribute the pack or a modification of it, and so therefore I won't unless the author gives me explicit permission to do so.

If you want to make a version for MCPE, go right ahead.
Just make it obvious that it's a port of this pack
As for the OptiFine entity animation/model feature, I'll look into it if I find the time for it.
I am not sure that anyone could entirely take claim over this pack besides the name...
Anyone besides Mojang/Microsoft, anyways
Regardless of whether someone merely extracted/archived a texture, or just re-made it, these are all either derivatives, or 'original copies' of textures once (or planned to be) present in minecraft at one point or another. Thus, it technically falls almost entirely under Mojang's copyright. I quite doubt they'll intervene with this pack, though...lol.
Don't know if it's my game, or an error with the pack, but I still get the new chest opening sounds when, well, opening chests, even when using the alpha version. If this is a bug with the resource pack, can you look into fixing it? Like either making it silent or using the old door sound, or if it's my game then I dunno.

Chests don't have .json models, so you can't change them with a resource pack. I think the chest model is coded into the chest class, so you can only change it with a mod.
Edit: Apparently Optifine does some fancy stuff so you can change entity models. I'll see if I can figure it out.
Well, here's my first try at the classic chest model. Unfortunately, there's a texture overlay bug that happens while it's being mined. I don't know if that's my fault or a bug with OptiFine.
I'll try to fix the texture glitch, but in the meantime here's the files just to try out. It looks fine so long as you don't mine any chests.
I (kinda) fixed the texture overlay bug. The destroy animation is a bit skewed because of the new model dimensions, but it's not as jarring as it was before.
The packs are now updated to 1.11 (the language file was getting old) and I added your chest models and textures. I've credited you in the changelog and feature list in the OP.

But the only issues with the pack i could not fix was the pig and chest textures. MCPE doesn't support transparency in certain textures. So i left them alone, i'm trying to figure out in the meantime how to fix this...
Recreation of Minecraft's old greyscale lightmap. It's not perfect since torch light is calculated a bit differently than it used to, but I made some tweaks to get it as close as I can. It also gets rid of light flickering. (This feature requires OptiFine or MCPatcher)
Skeletons have zombie arms again! Just like in alpha/beta. (This feature requires OptiFine)
Removed tintIndex from leaves block model so birch and spruce leaves are no longer tinted.
This one's a lot more basic than the rest, but I've added the cow and slime textures from early alpha (pre-Alpha 1.0.13).

Wish placing blocks directionally was easier? Check out this suggestion!

Just for future reference
Oh OK. Well, I do have Optifine but I don't have any knowledge on how to change block models.

Does it have the original pig texture?

This is much harder than I thought. So frustrating.
Perfect!

Well, you just got a good review from ECKOXSOLDIER.
Here's an update preview for the alpha version of PE.
